  3. That is a drag -- have heard the repro ones are a pain to install compared to Ford tooling.

  5. Great video. Good tunes to go along with the very impressive restoration -- actually more like a re-birth!!!
  6. The shovel to the head -- now that is the icing on the cake!
  7. So it sounds like the back piece will be easy. Just some foam and done. But (no pun intended) the actual seat part (where your butt goes) will have to be pieced together with burlap and jute felt -- not sure how comfortable that will be since it will be replacing some foam.
  8. I need to reupholster my fold down seat. I have been searching for the foam but I guess I am looking in all the wrong places. Looking at the underside of the rear seat it looks like foam but the back of seat (where the backseat passenger would put their back) doesn't feel like foam. I haven't torn into it yet so I don't know for sure. Can anyone shed any light on where to get the right parts to reupholster the fold down seat?
  9. So Doc -- no customs fees? Or were they included?
  10. Maybe a silly question but... Prices in Canadian or American? For those of you who picked up some parts how much was shipping and did you have to pay customs fees?
  11. Humm... I like Mexico and I like Ford Blue so the perfect color would have to be: Acapulco Blue Plus mine was born with good ole Color 6 when it left the factory.
  12. Thks again for all of the replies. I heard back from Drake and here is what they had to say: "You can attach the cover and spring or leave it off and use the screw in cap. The screw on cap was put in the kit due to the fact that Ford would not approve the license to produce this cap without the screw on cap. Ford was adamant about making sure the gas would not leak." So it looks like I can have my cake and eat it to -- now if only replacing the cap would magically paint the car, rebuild the engine, redo the interior, and re-wire bumper to bumper. I guess I should send another E-mail to Drake and see if they have a cap that will do that as well. :-)
  13. Looks like someone at the site realized they were way underpriced and pulled them or they sold 10 real fast.
  14. I shot an E-mail off to Scott Drake -- wanted to get feedback from boots on the ground before I went to HQ. I will drop their answer here when I hear back.
  15. How about a set of Tri-Y's for a 351W -- that don't cost an arm and leg. The decent ones look like they are around $500+. I would like the headers for the performance but not sure I can justify that much $$$ for a few HP. Thoughts???
  16. Anyone got their hands on the Scott Drake repro '69 Gas Pop-Open Cap? (the one with the Cog gear stamping). I have seen them advertised on Sleeze-Bay and was wondering how they look and whether or not it is possible to retain the "pop-open" look and not have to simply use the pop-open to cover an ugly screw on gas cap. The one on mine isn't too bad but does show it's age. I though about just replacing the gasket and getting it re-chromed but can't see an easy (non-destructive) way of getting the thing apart.
