  1. Dude that sucks I'm sorry to hear it and see it, that's painful. Your not replacing both fenders are you? Seems the drivers side is still good.
  2. all the rust at the bottom rear of the panels? Im looking for a passenger wheel arch and the bottom portion of the DS from the arch to the door . Lower bolts to about 8 inches up around that lower body line.
  3. Im looking for old front fenders minor rust is ok but terribly dented may not work, also I do not need whole fenders but just some pieces cut out of them so I can weld uo some places in mine. I just don't want to spend money for new fenders when I could get patch panels. Drivers side lower fender from the arch all the way to the bend at the door plus about 8 inches up just past that lower body line on the fender. Passenger side wheel arch plus 4 inches all the way around . That's all I need my PS fender must have blown a tire from previous owner and he patched it with bondo, the DS had plobably a gallon of filler in it to fill in a huge dent that stretched that whole length of the fender. Possibly anyone with some decent used headlight buckets with the lower tab. Thanks
  4. Hey nightmare , how bad were your front fenders?
  5. The body lines are just diffrent at the bottom otherwise I can make my own patches that is why I was looking for someones old fenders I could use for panels.
  6. Does anyone know if a company sells patch panels for front fenders? I found some for rear quarters and was wandering if the body lines are close enough to use for the front. What I am looking for are the lower rear sections of front fenders from the wheel opening to the innner bolt locations on the driver side, I would also like a section of well arch for the passenger sideat least half the arch I imagine. Anyone replace their front fenders and have these sections still good or minimally rusted but not dented that I could cut out and weld on my fenders or you could cut out for me? I just dont want to shell out all that money when the whole fender is still decent except a small section. Thanks guys
  7. well huh you did great of course the forklift is useful as well. I'm making a rotisserie fairly cheaply I might add, but the car is outside under a cover so I must epoxy it as I do it.
  8. It was more disheartening to see that someone would spend that much time and energy in bondo instead of buying the proper piece, but oh well. I see you into the quarter panel good luck with that After I get the bondo off back there I'll see what im in for in months to come though.
  9. You have done some wonderful progress on the car from beginning to where you are now. I really like the stand you built for the car to sit on, but as you were doing all the underside work surely you didn't lay on floor and do it but I didn't ever see any pics of a rotisserie. DId you use one or really lay on the ground?
  10. I did alittle on the fenders today to see what was underneath the paint, and ........... The passenger side is good, however the driverside needs to be replaced. Between the rust holes and the numerous amount of damage it was rediculous that someone could put that much bondo on a panel. The body line at the very bottom of the fender had close to 3/8 in bondo in some spots but spread almost the whole length of the panel. I wish I would have snapped some pics but I took it down and tried to knock out the dents until I realized it wasn't worth it.
  11. Incase I missed it what 6 speed tranny are you using? I'm interested in the TR-6060 myself so? Was the gauge cluster easy to hook up? I seen the coilpacks but I wasn't sure if you had fuel injected the engine or not. I liked installing the cluster in race cars but never thought about doing it in my personnal car. Also last tidbit NASCAR is testing those clusters to see if it is easier, I know the Richard Petty's driving expierence cars are running them because I installed a few while in school.
  12. My whole reasonfor asking is because if I'm thinking about a diffrent tranny now I might as well open up the tunnel while I'm doing the body work so I don't do all the underbody work and then change my mind and install a modern 6 speed. The .50 overdrive is the what challengers had the shelby has a .73 I think. I could run a 4:30 or a 3:90 again I might as well think about it now and get some opinions before I get to far into this thing money wise to do it all over again. From what I have found is the TR-6060 is about equal cost as the TKO-600 some I found slightly cheaper. I can go used and rebuild it if need be or change the gears myself, those tremecs are extremely easy to rebuild and replace gears. Most times just replacing your synchros or dog gears will dramatically improve your shifting depending how much beating you do on your tranny.
  13. So in reading alot of info people have pretty much said the TKO-600 over the T-56 even though it is a little bigger than the 4 speed toploader. Anyone have any info about the TR-6060? 6 speed from a 05-09 shelby has a 6th gear of .63, from a challenger it has a 6th of .50 that combined with 3:90 gears and a 428 should be pretty good highway cruising speed right? Any thoughts
