  1. Hey Guys, I need a help in locating the correct upper steering column tube bearing for a fixed steering column for my 69 Sportsroof. I ordered a Ford upper steering column bearing part # C7SZ-3517-C that states it fits 68-72 fixed column tube bearing. The outside diameter of the original bearing is 1 3/16". The one listed above is 1 1/2" in outside diameter. I have tried several auto parts shops and no luck on an aftermarket replacement. Any help on where to get one would be appreciated. Thanks Mark
  2. A FE 390 stroked out to a 445 ci with a World Class T-5 is touchy. Fortunately I am a cruiser and show car. I know that if I get on it to many times the T5 will go down. Lessons learned on doing a total restoration and changing the drive train. The rear end I had beef and installed 3:50 gears. Rule 1 - purchase the car of your dreams Rule 2 - When upgrading to a big block and stroking it and adding manual transmission, check with your engine builder prior to buying the tranny. Rookie mistake. Thanks Mark
  3. I have a 69 Sportsroof. I am converting it from a 351W with FMX to a 390 with a T-5. I am going with Modern Drive Line cable set up for the clutch. I am trying to determine where the clutch cable will goes through the firewall. I reviewed the holes in firewall diagram by "Buening" on a another post but it didn't show it. Any pics would be appreciated. Thanks Mark
  4. Thanks Raven R Code. I did not catch that. Mine is also Black Jade and I'm also the second owner. Thanks Mark

  6. The best I have found is in the December 2012 issue of Mustang Monthly. They breakdown all years, model and engine sizes. The 69's are on page 30. Go to mustangmonthly.com Mark
  7. Hi guys, I am upgrading my 69 Sportsroof from the standard interior to the deluxe interior. I have added the wire loom for the door panel lights/speaker and need to know how the speaker is mounted into the door. I know that I have to cut the door, I just don't want to over or under cut the opening. If anyone has a picture of the speaker mounted into the door I would appreciate it. Thanks Mark
  8. I have a factory installed 3/4 vinyl roof on my 73 Mustang Mach 1. I get many compliments on it. I have been at shows with other identical Mach 1's without the vinyl top and it really stands out.
  9. I'm still wondering why some fenders have the tab and some do not. I will ask around. Dave, no problem we are good. Thanks Mark
  10. I know the headlight buckets are different between the years but wasn't sure if the actual fender was different. It might be different. Just asking cause I am not sure and just trying to learn. Thanks Mark
  11. I checked my 69 front fenders and didn't have the metal tab as shown in the pics above. I know the body shop switched out fenders because the original ones were warped. I am now wondering if these are 70 fenders? Any thoughts. Thanks Mark
  12. Does anyone know if a front end cover or bra is made for a 69 Sportsroof? I have seen them for other years. Just wondering. Thanks Mark
  13. Hey Guys, I am looking for the Fuel dash gauge part # C9ZZ 9305 B and the Temp dash gauge part # C9ZZ 10883 B for a 69 Sportsroof with a factory tach. Thanks Mark
  14. I do not think so. I believe the front fenders are slightly different between 71, 72 and 73. The bigger bumper for 73 required different mounting. You might verify this first.
  15. I totally agree. That is my biggest frustration. I am trying to put it back together so I can learn and save money. I got lots of parts but no hardware. I have learned to get the part and find out who has the hardware and order that at the same time. Parts + Hardware + Directions = maybe a new career field
  16. Thanks for the info. I don't have the old harness. I could buy a old harness and reuse the grommets. I just figured someone had to make them by now.
  17. Hey Guys, I bought the 69-70 mustang Painless wiring kit. It is an excellent product but does not come with the factory grommets. Such as wiper motor wires, engine harness wires, rear license plate light and etc. My question is where can I get these? I know that I will have to slice the grommet to get it on the wires Thanks Mark
  18. Thanks LilMike I am not sure on what carpet underlayment I will use. Good tips to remember. Thanks Mark
  19. I am about to install my Painless wiring in the 69 Sportsroof and would like to know which comes first..... the wiring or the carpet underlayment Thanks Mark
  20. I had my entire dash and clock re built by Auto Instruments. Looks better then new, tach and clock were missing parts. Tach sets at bottom left side slash mark which is 0 when off. I have yet to install them.
  21. Thanks. I forgot I visited this site a few years ago. Mark
  22. I am trying to verify if fold down rear seat has a different back pad versus a standard rear seat back pad.
