  1. The driver's side window broke free from the tracks, so while I was at work I pulled the door apart and re-set everything, with new epoxy.
  2. Hello! Bad news for me means awesome news for you...I have a 1969 mustang 98% original, even the paint is original. 302 2 barrel silver jade automatic The car has 87,xxx miles on it and it runs and drives perfectly. Here's the thing. I have to sell this car ASAP, I live near Portland Or and I thought, anyone who wants to come take a look at it, or if you are seriously interested i will send you as many pics as you want. I am putting it up on this site because I have come here for years for info/advice and I thought somebody who sees this would take better care of it than someone who just wants to flip it for cash. We bought the car for 10k a few years ago. I will sell it for 10k now. I know it's worth more, if you know where to sell it. Here's the vin info, 9F01F138626. This is kind of a rushed post, so if you have questions email me. i will try to get a picture up as soon as possible, the car is silver jade. Sorry again for the expedited info...but this is honestly a good deal, 360-771-5421 bullwinkle1234@gmail.com
  3. Something on the side, Is it possible to tint Lexan? I heard something about dying it the color you want, and that you can't film tint it because it releases gas and the tint will bubble.
  4. I agree with jc69stang, I have my fan direct wired to a switch panel and if the car gets up to 180 I can just flick it on. Not only is it great control but it also is a very simple system to set up, and reliable.
  5. Haha! I've been eating very healthy so at least that one is covered  Bnickle's got quite a list there I already cut out the gas tank and went with a fuel cell, I also built a new trunk floor that doesn't drop down like the original, probably only lost like 1 pound of metal but it gives me more clearance underneath and i like the way it looks. I was thinking of doing the polycarbonate instead of glass, anyone got any good suppliers? The wiring system is pretty much bare, no radio, (like i could hear it anyway), no heater but I may put one back in, the pacific NW doesn't get too cold but it's nice to take my wife to dinner in winter without piling on the sweaters, I got rid of the original fusebox and put in a much simpler, smaller version. Plus, I am getting rid of the inner headlights ( I know, I know, so kill me Pakrat) I saw cphsonic's grill and I think I'll do something along those lines. It should weigh a little less and I really like the way it looks. Thanks for all the advice guys, and I'll let you know if I come up with anything tricky to lose a few extra pounds.
  6. This will mainly be a street car, but anything I can do to give it that little extra 100th of a second at the track would be awesome :shifty: I've already deleted a/c and power steering, and I'm not a fan of swiss cheesin my frame. Mainly I have just been rooting through the car looking for useless/extra devices. I realize that most of if not more of the weight I get out will be put back in with bracing and a roll cage, but it's still worth it in my mind!
  7. Before I call Jenny Craig, i've been trying to knock as much useless weight out of my car as possible. Other than going all fiberglass parts (which I have done somewhat) lets bust out the torch and figure what can stay and what can go. My Trans/engine setup is pretty light as most is aluminum, what sort of things can I look at getting rid of, or getting ligher versions of? Thanks
  8. PO's are always full of wonderful surprises, (as I'm sure you know by now Jayru). When I bought my car I was 16, and didn't know a whole lot about restoration, but i knew I had 1300 bucks and a swap meet that weekend so if there was a 69 in the group, I was coming home with it. The car was obviously stored outside but I didn't care, it actually looked pretty straight. Once I hauled it home and started tearing down all the good stuff....and looking at all the not so good stuff. The PO had been in some sort of accident on the drivers side, and had replaced all the panels on that side, except the quarter which was just coated in bondo and spray painted to match. You could really hardly tell anything was wrong at all, until I started to look at the fender apron and it was hacked in (looked like it was welded by a 10 year old) and the drivers door wouldn't align properly. The trunk lid was welded to the insert nut things, and it didn't align either. I have to this point replace both fender aprons even though they were rust free, the taillight panel, all the metal behind that and and starting on the quarters. All of these panels had at some point been "repaired" by the PO ( to his credit it wasn't the guy I bought the car from that did the repairs). The old fuse box had been cut out and a new-used one was put in by crimping all the wires together with butt connectors, and then leaving it hang under the dash with twine holding it up and away from my feet. I was beginning to wonder what other things the PO had done and what made him think he was capable of taking on these projects. I found my answer when I pulled up the carpet to replace it. Underneath, I found a Very large, Very old bag of weed, apparently he had either forgotten it under the carpet (wonder why) or had hid it there for some reason, though I had to pull off the sill plates and take the seats out to get to it..... ALWAYS inspect your car thoroughly, I was eager and young, so I had an excuse :tongue_smilie:
  9. Man, all I got after graduation was the boot! That's a nice looking stang! If you do decide to pull the motor and tranny, my advice is to have the new setup ready to go when you pull the old one out. This way you won't have to have it off the road too long :)
  10. I helped a friend install his, and they are piece of cake, plus they are a great alternative to getting new guages if you're on a budget. Make sure you have clean hands otherwise they can be pretty easy to smudge
  11. Car is looking great! I can't tell by the rendering, but are you keeping or losing the drip rails?
  12. I would recommend eliminating the shock towers up front by going to a different set up, It's my understanding it will fit with them still in (?) But it can be quite the hassle if you ever want to change spark plugs, play with your headers...or do anything that involves the engine bay
  13. Engine "Bay"? I don't see any water... Lmfao You've got a great sense of humor pak, I guess you have to if you own a convert :whistling: Anyways, thanks for the help FordRevHead! I think I spotted that one online but I couldn't tell by the picture if it was the right piece.
  14. Also, unrelated, but I have a 8.8" rear end out of a 2001 mustang, and I need leaf spring plates that fit the u-bolts, the only ones I can find are these: http://www.mustangdepot.com/OnLineCatalog/Suspension/tcp-spring-plate.htm But, they are $140 and thought there has to be something cheaper out there. Any thoughts?
  15. I just pulled off my tail light panel to discover the true color of my car: Rust! If I were building a rat rod that would be amazing. Obviously I am going to have to replace a few more panels...but first I need to know what the hell I'm looking at. I looked for a name for this panel but I just cant find it, anyone know what it is/where I can get a new one?:helpsmilie:
