  1. Thanks for the picture and description. I understand how it works now. I will keep my eyes open for a less expensive bracket...perhaps someone will read this thread and offer me a bracket for a more reasonable price ;) Or I am sure I could fabricate something myself.
  2. Do you happen to have a picture of that rear bracket? Where does that bracket attach to the car?
  3. I am getting ready to install a new stereo/cd in a 1969 and am curious how others have done this. I am fine with trimming the brezel to fit the larger size of radio. However, I am unsure what I should use to support the weight of the stereo. Should I use the front radio bracket (http://www.cjponyparts.com/radio-support-bracket-1969-1970/p/RSB/) in some way?
  4. Old post but instead of starting a new thread a bit of additional information added to this one might be useful. I can see how the bracket in post 4 attaches to the the four holes in post 1. However, should the bracket be attached in front or behind the top mounting holes? Same question for the bottom holes.
  5. This url has the wiring diagrams for all years. http://midlife66.com/wiring/wiring.html
  6. Thanks for the reply. Could the restriction be in the control valve (the pump is new so assuming there is no restriction in the pressure side of the pump)? If yes, how would I test the control valve for a restriction if it is not visibly apparent?
  7. Thought I might post this here as well. I have a 1969 351W with the stock power steering. When I bought the car, the power steering was fairly intermittent. I replaced the power steering pump and the power steering was fine. After about a month or two the power steering belt would squeal on a warm start for 5 to 10 seconds. Believing the power steering pump was bad, I replaced it only to have the squealing still occur. Additionally, if I drive the car hard enough the power steering will go out. It does return after the car cools down. I have changed the belt of course as well as flushed the fluid. What could be the cause of this issue? I don't want to randomly replace parts until I fix the issue.
  8. The voltage regulator is gone. Not sure about the choke but it is not an electric choke. I was hoping for a simple extension point in the under dash harness. I guess that is the accessory clip mentioned above.
  9. I am simply adding a few gauges (tach, temp, pressure). Not much extra pull. I have an original harness. In addition to the accessory clip, is there another easily accessible location for 12v keyed?
  10. What is a commonly accepted place to hook into for 12v keyed ignition source?
  11. What car would this be from to get at a autoparts store?
  12. How well aligned is the alternator pulley to the crank pulley? Is the battery low on charge? If the battery is low on charge it will create quite a draw on the alternator which might cause the belt to slip.
  13. I need a new distributor for a 351W and would like to have it fit under the factory air cleaner. As well, it needs to be electronic ignition and not points. Can anyone suggest a partnumber that would fit my requirements? Also, would like to avoid a Pertronix points eliminator kit installed in a stock distributor.
