427Stang got a reaction from Grabber70Mach in For those with Convertibles and want 3" exhaust tubes
Thanks, the toughest part was fabricating the exhaust pod in the rear. the stock Shelby pod is a massive restriction to flow.

427Stang got a reaction from RPM in Shock tower woes
Lack of weld penetration from the back side pic, grind the cracks and weld the backside. Shock tower stress cracks are common, metal work hardens and cracks, weld it up and enjoy unless you are planning massive power upgrades later.

427Stang reacted to SHELBY69 in Best aftermarket rear suspension ?
My first stage was front lowered EIBACH springs, shocks & fatter sway bars
rear EIBACH shocks & fat sway bar.
I also added AMERICAN RACING “Halibrands” wrapped in fat modern MICHELINS. She has front BAER brakes too.
I have race cars so I just want a comfortable cruiser.
inside I added Bluetooth, new speakers, NARDI steering wheel, and CORBEAU seats w custom upholstery and JEGS 4 point harness bcus the original upper harness is ridiculous to wear

427Stang reacted to SHELBY69 in What did you do to/for your Mustang today?
New rack & pinion being installed. Old steering system was totally worn out.

427Stang reacted to mexicruiser in What did you do to/for your Mustang today?
Got the TCP tubs that are shaped like originals these add 2” and combined with the narrow leafs from Evergreen allow a 315 tire with enough clearance to avoid any rubbing. I did narrow the rear seat backrest, removing a section from the middle and reinforcing the joint. I also have a narrowed axle because I wanted the wheels to have dish.

427Stang got a reaction from MAC390 in Convertible Exhaust
I made my own rotisserie. Its a 427 stroked to 482. Triangulated 4-bar rear suspension. Richmond trans, I fabbed the headers and exhaust.

Got her out for her FIRST EVER show today. Been years coming, but it is nice to get to this stage after being in storage for 20+ years and rebuild for the last 5 years. :)

Sure enough, but 2nd place is not bad when you're a standard coupe sitting next to a concourse 70 Mach 1...
Good day for her first ever show.

Years of saving and not revealing the true cost to my wife!
Build thread will be coming when I get more consistent time to work on it.

I don't have pics of the tires and wheels under it but here is the reason for the meats out back. A bit of engine porn for you.
