The kick down gets pulled forward as the throttle linkage is pulled back. At least thats how its set up with my Lokar brackets.

Hey Guys,
I have an 8" rear that came out of a 69 cougar and the vent hole is not threaded is there a vent out there that I can get for it, should I just pull the axle and tap it or just tack weld something to it?

Cross member wasn't an issue with my long tubes it was that the collector hit the transmission oil pan on the drivers side. We had to cut it and angle it out.

Is it a 200 or 250 CI 6? If its the 200 you're going to need a new bell housing no matter what.

I pulled the actual steel cable out of my factory housing and used that with the braided stainless Lokar outside cable.

New spindles, UCAs, shocks, wheels and tires in the front, new rear dif, wheels, tires, brakes and shocks in the back.

Well got the engine and trans in and I've assembled the disc breaks on the new spindles. now I've just got to swap the axel and front spindles get the rad connected and the vacuum set up and then driver her over to the muffler shop. If I'm very lucky I'll be driving her by next week.

Had her towed back the the garage, it's time to put the engine, brakes, tranny and shocks in. I've got three days to get it done. Going to try and remember to to take pics.

got my spindles prepped for my disc brake swap, ordered new BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW-2s, and a Magaflow exhaust kit. Expensive day.

finished AOD trans rebuild and installed B&M shift lever so I could keep my stock set up.

I went last year and man what a great event. There just was not enough time to see everything in two days. You and your Dad should have a blast!

Hey Big, unless his springs are shot, they would actually be fine, he'd only really need new springs if he was going big block.

You can, and probably should use the AOD. Even if there was an adapter for the disk brakes I think you would probably have to change the spindles. While this swap is pretty straight forward in that there are no body modes that you'll have to do the list additional parts you're going to need is really long. It's going to be a few K on top of your basically free engine. Just be prepared, it's a bit of a rabbit hole you're going to go down.
A fun rabbit hole that will actually allow you to spin your tires (in a good way) when you're done!

Thanks for the info Big, I was liking the idea of separate ignition module for the rev limiter but I see that the Ready to Run distributors have it built in now so that might be a good way to go.

And yeah you have to drop the steering wheel. This is a winter project for me as well.
