  2. Thanks to all of your imput and direction. The Disc Brake Conversion brackets were purchased from MustangSteves. Steve was a big help with some of my questions and the directions that came with the bracket kit were awesome. Looking forward to getting the rear end, springs, etc back on her this weekend.

  4. After reciving my rear disc brake conversion kit brackets from Steves Mustang, I need to press off the bearings on the axle shaft. Since I am doing that, I need new bearings. Can anyone suggest a place to purchase new ones from including seals or suggest part numbers. Thank you

  6. I am going from Drums to Disc's on the rear of my restomod. Can anyone offer a good source for caliper brackets for my 8" rear rebuild. I am quite sure that the bolt pattern is 5 x 4.5 on my 69 Coupe. Thanks in advance Bill Nicholson

  8. Mike, still have the distributor in its original box? Interested in buying this from you. Thanks Bill
  9. I place an order yesterday from a distributor of AAW on E-Bay last night that totaled $594 w/free shipping. If you buy direct from AAW it will cost you $710 w/shipping. Worth the time to do a little research for best pricing. I appreciate the responses. Will post progress on the wiring after I get that 8" rear rebuilt and installed with the new rear leaf springs installed and she's off the rotissarie.
  10. My coupe also had a vinyl top in its earlier life and will not be getting another. As for the trim my thoughts all along was to paint the trim black. I have seen this before and like the look however I am always on the hunt for alternate looks to my restomod that makes sense to the look of the car. I'm not to sure about painting them the same color as the car.
  11. Next step in the project is to purchase a complete wiring kit. Any suggestions to make the decision easier? Pros/Cons.
  12. Can anyone offer a link to a really good detailed article on How To Rebuild an 8 inch Differential. Thanks
  13. Thanks for all of your great threads past and present. I have done a lot of reading of many of your posts, looked at several projects and feel that I have joined the right group. I have loaded some pix of my project from the beginning that started almost 6 years ago to just last week. I have tons of pix but only loaded a few that I felt describes my journey. There is light at the end of the tunnel for her. Enjoy the library of pix. Thank for all you do for this site. BOOYA2YA
  14. I appreciate the comments. I've gone ahead and ordered the HD's.
  15. Ready to order rear leaf springs and install kit for my project. I'm looking for some advice on which set up to go with. Standard or Heavy Duty(HD). Both are offered by Eaton Deteroit Spring. Pricing seems reasonable thru Year One. Thanks Bill
  16. Hello to All: New Member to the site. Currently rebuilding a 1969 Mustang Coupe. 5 year project now and have completed all the metal work on the body and have her undercoated. I need to get her off the rotissary. I have the 8.8" rear apart and placing 3.55:1 Gears in. I need to purchase rear leaf springs now and will purchase them from Year One. The MFG is Eaton Spring in Detroit. Good choice?? to expensive?? My problem is finding out if she was built before 9/11/68 or after. Data plate from the door shows a date code of 24D. Can someone help me decode this date. I have tons of pix that I will load to my prifile soon. Thanks Bill Nicholson Pfafftown, NC
