  4. Machspeed I really dont know the thickness of the metal but its not flimsy junk. Its identical to my factory tank imo. I dont think you will be disapointed. Im really satisfied with mine. There stainless sending unit works but isnt spot on as far as the reading on the quage but no reproductions are. I think you can bend the sending unit arm or adjust a small screw on the back of the fuel guage to tweak it. The tank is a great reproduction part. Its actually one reproduction part that didnt get slung across the garage because of fitment issues. lol
  5. I bought a stainless tank from this guy on E-bay. I dont know how he sells them so much cheaper than anyone else. Im very happy with it thou. It fits, works, and looks great. I would run all stainless fuel lines, tank, and sending unit if you can. Todays fuels are really low quality... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-FORD-MUSTANG-STAINLESS-STEEL-GAS-TANK-NEW-/230557051538?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35ae456a92
  6. I got mine from AMK. Part #F-159. They sent me a big catalog after ordering a bunch of stuff. I tend to like there fastners. They have a more original appearance.

  8. Anyone have any suggestions on cleaning or detailing my C/6 automatic? Ive cleaned the majority with purple power but it just doesnt look new. What about easy off oven cleaner or soda blasting the outside?
  9. I have a new set of FPA headers for my 69 mustang with the 390GT engine. These will fit 67-70 Mustang and Cougar. They have been ceramic coated in the grey ice color. Fit only the 14 bolt gt heads not the 16 bolt cj heads. Come with the gaskets, bolts, and the collectors. These headers new with shipping are $900. These are a beautiful set of headers. Only reason Im selling is I want to use the Edelbrock Performer heads which utilize the 16 bolt tall port heads. First decent offer can have these. You can go on to the FPA site to see a set. 10. I also have a 69 390 car. I took off the original carb. Installed a Holley 3310. Hooked up a hose to the back of the carb. Run it over to the pass side valve cover to a pcv. Capped off all the other ports. Works just fine...
  11. I have a rear seat for a 69 coupe. Real nice shape black in color. $150 Derek 336-442-4985
  12. I have a 69 Mach1 with a 390. Im currently building the engine for it now. From all my reasearch it seems that the Canton (road race pan) is the one to go for.
  13. Talked to my exhaust guy today about runing the exhaust on my car. Im going to run 2 1/2 inch duals all the way out to the valance. My exhaust guy said hes done a few 69 stangs. He said he will have to fabricate some hangers for the mufflers since Ford never used anything bigger than 2 1/4 on a Mach1. Anyone have any suggestions on the hangers?
  14. Dash cluster pin number 5. Yellow and white is for the fuel sending unit.
  15. Im trying to hook up the throttle linkage on my new holley. My car is a 69 390 mach 1. It originally had a motorcraft 4300. Still has the cast iron s-code intake. What can I use to make it work? 428cj linkage?
  16. I need a new voltage regulator for my 69. I want to get one with the benefits of the newer sold state technology but with the looks of the original oem. I believe mine is suppose to be blue with the yellow Autolite writing. Were can I get one?
  17. I found my problem... The temp and fuel guages were grounding out on the metal housing. I took some electrial tape and put it on the backside of the guages to keep them from touching. Everything works just fine now. The way to check this is to get an ohm meter. Disconnect the IVR. Take one test lead to the metal housing. Take the other and touch it to each guage post. If it shows continuity or beeps like mine theres your problem. Its always something simple....
  18. Anyone know how to bench test an instrument cluster? How do you check the IVR off then on the car? Having some really frustrating issues....
  19. I bought a new grille for my car. Its the Ford tooling grille. It fits well but its more of a gloss black. The originals are more of a charcoal color.
  20. If I remember right the block casting numbers are behind the starter. Good luck with that one. You can look for codes on the water pump, distributor, and the intake. See if the valve cover has a sticker on it for info. There should be a date code close to the oil filter also. If the t-stat housing bolts to the intake its a small block windsor engine. If it bolts to the block its the cleavland family. Check the intake for more casting numbers.
  21. Count the number of valve cover bolts. 5 bolts FE engine 390/427/428... 6 bolts 289/302/351 Windsor... 7 bolts 429/460... 8 bolts 351 Cleveland or possibly a 351 modified or 400....
