  1. I had a similar problem with mine. Turned out to be vapor lock. I had a mechanical fuel pump and a big block in Florida heat. The awful alco-gas we are forced to run now boils at a much lower temperature and the carb was vapor locking. Heavily insulating the fuel lines from the inner apron all the way to the carb and using a phenolic carb spacer helped some, but it still occasionally happened in the heat of the day. I ended up putting an Aeromotive stealth pump in the tank and utilized an Aeromotive return style regulator to return the fuel back to the tank. Problem solved, even in Florida at noon in July, I haven't had any further problems. I still have all the fuels lines in the engine compartment shielded with heat sleeve just in case.
  2. I wish I could afford Anvil's parts.
  3. Agreed, they are very proud of their stuff! But I will attest to the quality of their products. Everything I have gotten from them has been top notch and has functioned flawlessly.
  4. Good grief, make sure you disinfect it!
  5. You need this sheetmetal piece that mounts under the trim you have and the trim mounts to it. https://www.npdlink.com/store/products/mustang_deflector_front_bumper_stone_repro-102859-468.html
  6. The first car I bought and paid for myself was the 1969 Mustang Coupe that I am just know finishing up it's complete restomodification. I paid another eighteen year old kid 500 bucks for it in 1981 and I had to borrow the money. Anyone remember Household Finance Company? It's the way many of us poor kids in the 70's and 80's started to establish a credit history. I don't remember the interest rate, but I bet it was high! I have had it for 34 years, seven or eight different motor/trans combos, daily transportation for a while, spent several years dragstrip only, then back to an occasional driver and then sat in the barn for many years. I even had a straight front axle under it Gasser style in the mid 80's! Won a few car shows, a few bracket races and a few street races over the years. Wife even drove and drag raced it for a while. Waiting on the painter dude to finish some parts, so I can get it back together for probably the last iteration under my watch. The wife will probably sell it after I croak, but I can't.
  7. Mustangs To Fear was working on one. Not sure if they have it available yet?
  8. I was also able to straighten a couple of mine with a propane torch and GENTLE persuasion. Slow and careful and the pot metal will move without cracking.
  9. I love mine. I switched from mechanical because I started getting vapor lock problems with this crappy E10 swill they force down our throat. I am in Florida and with a big block and our heat, silly thing would vapor lock every time I tried to drive any distance in the summer. I would imagine you don't have any heat issues down under? :) The Aero solved all my issues and it's VERY quiet. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/aei-18688/reviews/
  10. The new pumps are not loud at all. The new Holleys are quiet for an external design and I used the Aeromotive Phantom that goes in the stock tank. You can barely hear it without the engine running. Once running, you can't hear it at all.
  11. I have used two of the ones NPD sells for 69's. They were both fine, fit well no issues.
  12. remove sway bar end links, it allows the bottom arm to drop lower.
  13. I am not sure but I gathered that they all work on both beams from the ad on their site. As you said, probably a jumper wire. I have never purchased anything from them, so it's good to hear that the are quality types. I like their prices compared to others on these.
  14. Anybody used the Mustang Project LED headlights? They are much lower priced and I like that all four headlights work on both high and low beam. http://www.mustangproject.com/ProductDisplay.aspx?ID=5e5db5b8-c86c-47df-9dd2-bae08289dc01
  15. That last pic looks great. I always kind of like the gap to be the same front and rear. As b1002 said, that is a really sharp color.
  16. They are supports for the standard door panel header pieces, the metal pieces above the standard door panel. Deluxe door panels don't use them.
  17. Is it a original ford hood or a repro? I have had to lengthen the slots on the hinges at the rear apron mounting to get the rear of the hood low enough on two cars when using a repro hood. If its a ford hood, you just need to lower the hinge. Good tips on hood alignment here. It's for a Falcon, but they mount the same way. http://falconccwa.stormloader.com/bonhint.htm
  18. It's their All American series. http://shop.classicinstruments.com/all-american-series I had them delete their little winged logo and put on different needles. And they put the high beam with blue leds and the turn signals with green leds in the speedo. And the gauge lighting is white led halo lighting. They really look great at night. http://shop.classicinstruments.com/ledhth They were really great to work with and will customize gauges anyway you want.
  19. Punisher, your wiring is freaking art! I wish I had the ability and patience to do it like that. Well done.
  20. RPM, are those two rounded corners the only place you had to clearance? Since I have everything pulled back apart, I will check that area when I put mine back together. Chillin, is that Acapulco Blue? That's what's getting sprayed on mine.
  21. Late to the party, but figured out how to do pics. Here's mine with Classic Instruments gauges. They have LED turn signals and high beam indicator built into the halo lighting on the gauges. I too went with electric, but I may go GPS when I put the car back together, if I ever get it back from paint jail.
  22. I used the Year One Bezel and the fit was OK, not great. I got the best fit by not using the two tab screws on either side and just using the top ones into the dash pad and the bottom ones. I did have to use a bit longer screws in the bottom two. I am going to have to try and figure out how to post a pic on here.
  23. Check out Mustang Market, I bought mine from them and am very impressed. Nice pieces, good fit and look great.
  24. I used the AC one on my non-AC car and it works fine. It was identical to the original one I pulled out.
  25. Totally agree, the Aeromotive in tank is fantastic and very quiet. Excellent product.
