  1. Look locally for used parts.  I found original parts for my door and fender and used them but the amount of work it took to get them ready made me think I would have been better with reproduction or at least even.

It's ugly but not terrible.  Fender looks good in that photo.

Replaced my CoverCraft Car Cover as it wasn't water proof (as advertised). I went with Seal Skin, arrived just in time before the storm arrived in CA, Im happy to say this this is water proof. Plus side it came with storm straps that clips into the cover and is adjustable to tighten the cover down.

Lets see how long this lasts lol

Hopefully it is just something bumped the bulb in the trunk.  First time I ever got pulled over in my car I was 16 and dropping my dad at the airport.  I got pulled over for tail light being out.  I opened the trunk and it was because my dad's suitcase had bumped the bulb in the trunk and I just needed to reseat it.

Getting ready to pull my car out of storage. Noticed the tail lights don't work at all. Off to do some digging.

I am torn about getting an indoor dust only cover for my car.  Maybe I should just get a good cotton sheet.  My car will be in the garage but it gets dusty in there.

I removed my vents and replaced with 6inch mid-range speakers. Speakers were mounted to 1/8inch ABS adaptors sized to the hexagonal vent recesses. (The corresponding tweeters were mounted where the dash speaker used to be). In my case, I made custom upholstered kick panels, which included the speaker grill, to eliminate the stock vent and handle. I used foam speaker baffle/surround to waterproof the back of the speakers and used some dynamat to reduce any vibrations from the sheet metal. With two more speakers in the rear armrests and a sub in the trunk with 1000 watts the systems sounds great three houses away. :)

I love this idea of putting the tweeters in the dash.  I wanted to add some but could not figure out an inconspicuous location.

Nothing wrong with that video Ed. Where did you learn the trick of working from the back side of the polisher motor? That is ingenious.

See what Vic wrote.  I did not want to get impaled and it actually makes it easier to me to let the wheel pull the piece and me pull back against it instead of a push/push the other way.

Ed. Good video.  I did my quarter window trim about a month ago and it came out great.
I also polish with the wheel spinning away from me.    Avoids getting impaled by the trim if it catches the buffer wheel…..

I thought the quarter window trim was chrome.  I'll have to pull it out and do it too.  I know the boomerang is chrome and won't be polishing that on the buffer.  I may use a little compound on a rag and polish by hand.

Love the Crocs. Real Aussie feel to it :)

Thanks.  I knocked out the rest of the trim yesterday.  I went back over it several times and got most of the fine swirls out where a DA buffer overlapped the trim in the past.  I'm really impressed with how shiny it is now.

So where's the link, and pictures?

When i started on my trim, and like a maroon, I thought I'd replace any damaged pieces, and even bought some aftermarket pieces. Then I saw Kelly_H's post on how she repaired hers. I figured if a young GIRL could do it, so could I. Mine were pretty well mangled, but with a little finesse I couldn't tell where the old damage was without looking at the back side.

Not a very good video but my first one.  I'll do more with installation of the interior, building the engine, installing glass, etc.

  6. I gave them the PPG code off the old 69 Mustang color palette that everyone has seen and told them they needed to covert it from single stage to bc/cc.

Those two were Axalta line Chromabase $$$ and Nason $. They also got a third one from Matrix that is better shading but lower price and that one is what we went with. Top of this pile. Using the savings on base to get a better clear  IMG_1408.thumb.jpeg.31d049f3e65d2426ee0b185c607f8f83.jpeg

  7. My body shop told me they saw some deforming due to the fenders sitting on the floor.  They always have them on hangers now.  They are going to align them for me after paint but I will need to do the engine bay afterwards so I'm concerned about this too.

I wonder if I can remove just the top bolts with a chalk mark where the bolts align pain under them while they are on.  Maybe I can have them just paint the tops of the rails for me.  (going to message them now)

    Good Luck
