  1. Look locally for used parts. I found original parts for my door and fender and used them but the amount of work it took to get them ready made me think I would have been better with reproduction or at least even. It's ugly but not terrible. Fender looks good in that photo.
  2. Do you meant the stainless single strip of trim? I’ve been doing my stainless and it does take hours. I also did not have any major pits. I would just get it shiny. It is close to the ground and not easily seen and the tires will throw more debris at it.
  3. I plan to do electronic ignition but no box just everything inside the distributor. probably Pertronix maybe MSD or Progression
  4. Hopefully it is just something bumped the bulb in the trunk. First time I ever got pulled over in my car I was 16 and dropping my dad at the airport. I got pulled over for tail light being out. I opened the trunk and it was because my dad's suitcase had bumped the bulb in the trunk and I just needed to reseat it. I am torn about getting an indoor dust only cover for my car. Maybe I should just get a good cotton sheet. My car will be in the garage but it gets dusty in there.
  5. I love this idea of putting the tweeters in the dash. I wanted to add some but could not figure out an inconspicuous location.
  6. paint on the inside of hood, doors and trunk lid https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4jZTBzLvwJ/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  7. See what Vic wrote. I did not want to get impaled and it actually makes it easier to me to let the wheel pull the piece and me pull back against it instead of a push/push the other way. I thought the quarter window trim was chrome. I'll have to pull it out and do it too. I know the boomerang is chrome and won't be polishing that on the buffer. I may use a little compound on a rag and polish by hand. Thanks. I knocked out the rest of the trim yesterday. I went back over it several times and got most of the fine swirls out where a DA buffer overlapped the trim in the past. I'm really impressed with how shiny it is now.
  8. Not a very good video but my first one. I'll do more with installation of the interior, building the engine, installing glass, etc. youtube.com/watch?v=zSJ8tJXaCAE&t
  9. Started polishing my stainless trim. Made a short YouTube video about it.
  10. Russia isn't good for anything except bots, senseless killing and wars. We make better vodka in Texas (Tito's) and even Stoli is an American brand
  11. I trimmed too early and it settled and won’t stay under the door sills soldering iron is money for holes
  12. I gave them the PPG code off the old 69 Mustang color palette that everyone has seen and told them they needed to covert it from single stage to bc/cc. Those two were Axalta line Chromabase $$$ and Nason $. They also got a third one from Matrix that is better shading but lower price and that one is what we went with. Top of this pile. Using the savings on base to get a better clear
  13. It is, they are two different shades. The one on the right was too orange.
  14. I used to drive from Austin to just North of Jackson MS when my dad lived there. It’s 500 miles and took 9-11 hours. It’s about as long as I care to drive alone. Took a family Road trip last summer to KC, St Louis, Chicago, Cleveland, DC then back through Sw Virginia and Memphis. Those shorter than 8 hour days were more enjoyable
  15. Bob how many days did you take to make the drive to Texas, 2 or 3, more?
  16. Do you post your car on Instagram? Pretty sure I follow you there.
  17. I took a picture of my reproduction parts small one has spring clips and nuts and the wide one has j clips and screws
  18. Are you talking about the C shaped ones on the headlight buckets/fender extensions? You get to them from the back side. Check this thread. https://1969stang.com/forum/index.php?/topic/219903-finish-and-installing-front-headlamp-trim/
  19. Yes, I plan to install the fender extensions with the headlights already installed.
  20. I can't imagine driving a car with that problem. What is the state of your supports?
  21. My body shop told me they saw some deforming due to the fenders sitting on the floor. They always have them on hangers now. They are going to align them for me after paint but I will need to do the engine bay afterwards so I'm concerned about this too. I wonder if I can remove just the top bolts with a chalk mark where the bolts align pain under them while they are on. Maybe I can have them just paint the tops of the rails for me. (going to message them now) Good Luck
  22. well, you resurrected a post I'm interested in. I'm going to do all the trim assembly on my car to save labor. I have my original aluminum fender extension trim but it is dented in a few places so I bought new. The only parts I'm nervous about are the curved parts around the headlights. I'll definitely get those on before I attach to the fenders.
  23. Yes, I was going to say remove the shifter handle, you may also want to put chocks under the wheels, parking brake on and then shift it to D. Then take off the T part of the handle, don't let the button fall out.
