  1. Went to see it at the body shop. Time to pick out the paint line and color. Trying to match the original candyapple red. check my instagram for videos. @red69mustang
  2. Wow, that looks great. Mine will not be as nice underneath for sure. Hoping to get it back from Paint by mind February. I'm going to tackle the engine bay myself and plan to do a custom trunk insert in the future.
  3. ugh just measured mine that are still in the box 7/16"
  4. Not gas shocks. I got everything from OpenTracker several years ago. It’s what he recommended for me at that time. https://opentrackerracing.com/
  5. Everyone says to get repops. I have mine in a box ready to go on when the paint is done. https://www.npdlink.com/product/weatherstrip-kit-door-beltline-by-repops/103750?backurl=search%2Fproducts%3Fsearch_terms%3DBELTLINE%2BWEATHERSTRIP%26top_parent%3D200001%26year%3D1969&year=1969
  6. Thanks but that was before I stripped it down. It is in primer now. There is a link to my build thread on this site. https://1969stang.com/forum/index.php?/topic/47301-69-fastback-first-car-in-1985-bought-it-back-in-2011/#comments It had badly peeling paint and then it rolled into a tree so now it looks like this:
  7. I have the Magnum 500s on my car. This is the size and the look. Coker Magnum 500 15x7 front, 15x8 rear Cooper Cobra P235/60 R15 in front, P245/60 R15 in rear Suspension Mods Sourced from Opentrackerracing : 1" UCA drop, 560 1" drop coil springs, 1/4" Poly coil spring insulators, 1 1/8" front sway bar kit, Roller spring perches, Standard Upper arms, Standard Lower arms, New Strut rod bushings, KYB Front shocks, Grab-A-Track rear shocks, 4.5 Mid eye 1" drop leaf springs with new U-Bolt, front eye bolt and rear shackle kit
  8. Yep, put my car back in the garage and did not look at it for 3 weeks. It's been stripped to bare metal and had all the body work done now. In final block sanding phase.
  9. Will do. They have had my car since February and I know it turned into more work than they anticipated. They may not make anything on it with the way it has gone but they have paid attention to detail and I don’t mind it going slow as long as they are making progress.
  10. The armor needs its own thread!
  11. Heck, you guys are probably close enough to meet up.
  12. Be careful with that jumping the car from the solenoid. That’s how I started my car in reverse when I thought it was in park and it backed into a tree. Now it is getting a full body and paint overhaul.
  13. Really interested in the proper way to re-install. I have my window frames off now and bought new seals with the aluminum strips but have not inspected them to see if they have the clips yet. I did save the old parts so I should be able to figure out where they went. I am a few months from putting it back together.
  14. Not mine, I outsourced the body and paint work. I also hired a guy to help me build the engine (my first one). I do just about everything else. Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/red69mustang/
  15. More progress. It looks like they are getting close to paint.
  16. Are there good places to stay where we can park our cars overnight? Mine is getting close to getting painted now. I might want to see if some of the Texas group wants to caravan out there.
  17. I read somewhere, maybe on NPD, that the 69 and 70 handles are the same but the actuators inside the door are different. The new handles I bought for my car had the different ones and so I told my shop to use the original actuators with the new handles.
  18. Welcome and good luck. This is why I have been focused on my body and paint now and my new engine block is sitting untouched. Leery of building something that could sit too long.
  19. Nice car. Yeah, going to have to trace that button wires down. I could think of several uses but all guesses. brake line lock for burnouts, electric choke, nitrous, fog lights, ...
  20. Loosen them back up and see if it relieves a bind
  21. So it seems like Original gauges - route behind the support Dakota Digital - you can squeeze it in front of the support
  22. Yes, the driver vent hose needs to go behind the steering support or it will interfere with the gauge cluster. Hook the lower vents up before you install the gauges and passenger panels. When you are ready to do the dash pad see if you can do the center vent with the pad installed and then insert it in the pad. If not you’ll have to stage the pad and install the vent before the pad.
  23. Just realized. You're doing Vintage Air. I did Classic Auto Air
  24. So you're trying to use some of the original ducts to the vents? I went with the retrofit kit with my car since it was factory non-AC. It was tough to get to get the flexible tubes routed and connected to the vents but it worked in the end. I also used zip ties to hold the duct to the vents. Try using just the flexible ducts first and see if that works. Edit: Ad the biggest issue I had is the glove box does not fit with the new box from CAA. I think the AC cars had smaller boxes so let me know if yours works.
