Does anyone know the best option for a new rear end with disk brakes? I currently have a 9" rear end with drum brakes and 4.11 gears. I am going to change out the gears and at some point but disk brakes. Is it better to just buy a completely new rear end or make modifications to all of the existing. It is not a coded car. Also, does anyone know if any other years will fit the 69 mach 1? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I lean toward keeping it classic, but want to have all the info. Rider, Do you do all your own work or do you have a mechanic that you use and like??

Have any of you used a MSD Distributor to replace the stock. I have a 428 CJ and a mechanic I am working with is recommending one. I have seen the adds, but not sure if they are all they are hyped up to be.

Does anyone know what the initial timing should be on a 428CJ with a full race cam? Also what RPM should I set it to in idle for the timing adjustment? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just started working on a 428 CJ with a full race cam. It has the power steering and AC removed since the guy that had it only used it for the drags. I heard adding power steering and AC can increase vacuum, but have not found anything to document that. Does anyone know if this is true? It had an external vacuum pump, but I am trying to eliminate it if possible.
