  1. You need to shorten up the end which goes onto the water pump. This will move the bend up higher, and straighten out the curve/kink in the hose.
  2. Another old trick is to put a jack under the LF, or RF, and slightly jack up the car (not off the ground). This will twist the chassis a bit, and probably cause the bar to fit.
  3. Yep, A Petronix swap is one of THE best conversions for early Mustangs. They are cheap, and add SO much more reliability to the car.
  4. Thanks for the input!! I'm using an electric fan setup, as well as a Hydraulic clutch. So, those two things shouldn't be issues for me. I just hope my steering linkage won't have the same issue your's did, and that the crossmember is trouble free too.
  5. Buckeye... I tried to PM you... but your INBOX is full. I'll post the question here instead..... I saw one of your posts showing the work you had to do on your oil pan using the RM 1/2" drop mounts. I'll be installing my new 408w, and TKO-600, in a couple weeks. I'm also using a Shaker, and a Canton 7 qt pan. Did you find using the 1/2" drop mounts helped with clearance for both the trans, and the Shaker spacing? I assume that is why you opted to modify your oil pan. I have yet to order new engine mounts. Modern Driveline is machining the case of my TKO-600 for additional clearance in the trans tunnel. So.. I may not need the 1/2" mounts for trans reasons, more than I do for getting the Shaker to fit properly. Just wondering how you feel about the 1/2" drop mounts.
  6. The car is looking great! My fingers are crossed your exhaust comes out as you have envisioned. I'll be dealing with the same issue soon!
  7. Carroll Shelby Foundation Breaking News LEGENDARY ENTREPRENEUR CARROLL SHELBY PASSES AWAY LOS ANGELES - May 11, 2012 - Carroll Shelby International, Inc., (OTC: CSBI.PK) announced today that Carroll Hall Shelby, a man whose vision for performance transformed the automobile industry, has died at age 89. Mr. Shelby passed away yesterday at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. The cause of death was not disclosed. Born on Jan. 11, 1923, Carroll Shelby was one of America's greatest success stories. Championship-winning racecar driver, "flying sergeant" wartime pilot, philanthropist, entrepreneur, car manufacturer and racing team owner, he embodied the ingenuity, tenacity and grit to overcome any obstacle. He is perhaps the only person to have worked at a visible level with all three major American automobile manufacturers. Carroll Shelby founded Carroll Shelby International, a publicly held corporation involved in many industries. His licensing arm has agreements with industry giants, such as Mattel, Sony, Ford Motor Company and Electronic Arts. His car company, Shelby American, has a thriving parts business as well as a line of muscle cars including the Shelby GT500 Super Snake, Shelby GT350 and Shelby GTS. The Las Vegas-based company also manufactures a limited number of the 1960s Shelby 289 "street," 289 FIA, 427 S/C and Daytona Coupe Cobras. Shelby considered his greatest achievement to be the establishment of the Carroll Shelby Foundationâ„¢. Created in 1992 while Shelby was waiting for a heart transplant, the charity is dedicated to providing medical assistance for those in need, including children, educational opportunities for young people through automotive and other training programs and benefitting the Carroll Shelby Automotive Foundation. Shelby remained active in the management of each of his companies and the Foundation until his death, even though he endured both heart and kidney transplants in the last two decades of his life. "We are all deeply saddened, and feel a tremendous sense of loss for Carroll's family, ourselves and the entire automotive industry," said Joe Conway, president of Carroll Shelby International, Inc. and board member. "There has been no one like Carroll Shelby and never will be. However, we promised Carroll we would carry on, and he put the team, the products and the vision in place to do just that." Shelby is survived by his three children Patrick, Michael and Sharon, his sister Anne Shelby Ellison of Fort Worth and his wife Cleo. Funeral plans are not currently available. Information about the Carroll Shelby Foundation is available at http://www.carrollshelbyfoundation.org.
  8. Hmm, not trying to bash you... but, that hoop may bash you if you crash or roll the car.
  9. I just had a radiator custom made for my Mach. The shop built the tanks, and the outlets, and mated them to a large 2 tube cross-flow racing core. It measures 26" in total width, has twin SPAL 10" fans, the aluminum shroud, and the temp sensor/relay pack. I paid $525 for the entire thing. Sometimes, having one custom made isn't as expensive as one would think... and, you know it will fit.
  10. I have that same exact box, but in black.
  11. Good power and tq! Is that your AF ratio at 15+? If so, that's too lean! You want 12 or under for an '03/'04 Cobra engine to operate safely.
  12. SO glad that ended well. I would HATE to hear of what could have happened if the wheel came off!! Glad you got your steering issue fixed too!
  13. Too good to be true is right. No way that Snap-On box would be getting sold for only $1,800 in the condition it's pictured. And, if someone really IS selling that box... as pictured... for that price... it's stolen.
  14. Cruzzar... do you just have a single hoop bar?
  15. Just picked up my new custom aluminum Radiator today. It's 26" wide, two core, crossflow, with twin 10" SPAL electric fans, in an aluminum shroud. This should keep the 408 beast nice and cool....
  16. It's always a good idea to do that procedure prior to driving for the first time. If the pump sucks air for too long it can quickly damage the pump. Hopefully, the noise from your car WAS the belt just being too loose. If it was the pump itself making that noise.. it may not be good.
  17. I would advise against that swap STRONGLY. A 3.8L would be a DOG in your Mustang, not to mention those motors were crap to start with! I was a Ford tech for many years, and can honestly say "Don't do it!" You would have to MASH the gas just to get the car up to speed, which would ruin any fuel milage gain. Not to mention the internals are nothing spectacular. It would be easier to go with a Fox Mustang 5.0L EFI swap, and well worth the effort in power, mileage, and drivability. That's NOT to say it's a weekend swap job though. Here ya go..... some reading material on the subject. http://www.mustangevolution.com/mustang-articles/swapping-a-50l-efi-t-5-into-a-classic-mustang/
  18. Did you bleed air from the P/S system with the wheels off the ground, engine running, turning the wheels from lock to lock, prior to driving it? If not, the pump may be sucking air, causing that noise when you turn sharp. I agree too... the car color is really nice!!
  19. One of the best setups I've seen, and from one of the best customer service companies I know..... http://www.streetortrack.com/Street-or-Track-Front-Coilover-System-pr-24491.html
  20. While the pics of the 3 cars you posted look really cool (mostly the Flores Boss car), I can't imagine driving a car that low on the street would be much fun. There is a line which can be crossed between looking cool, and being usable/drivable.
