  1. Wow, was the bag made by Hefty? If so, that would make one HELL of a commercial! LOL Sorry for your misfortune. Hope the wife doesn't find out!
  2. I don't think the scoop itself is fiberglass, only the base piece. Here is a link to just the scoop on their site, and it says it's metal (alloy). http://www.cjponyparts.com/scott-drake-shaker-top-scoop-1969-1970/p/SHKRTS/ It might be worth it to call them and ask. If the kit version includes a fiberglass scoop, maybe they can substitute it for the metal version? The one on my car is the original from Ford.

  4. I love the Terminator engine swap, and the mods made to the stock hood for clearance of the supercharger. VERY clean job. This will be one amazing car when done.
  5. I will give those a shot in my Mach. Thanks for the link! It's amazing how dim the factory clusters are illuminated.
  6. I don't know where you heard SuperFormance cars use old technology, but NOTHING could be further from the truth! If anything, SPF Cobras are one of the best matches appearance wise to the originals, but modern under the skin. They all use square tube, modern chassis, unlike the round tube originals. They all have modern IRS, 4 wheel coil overs, Wilwood brakes, and the list goes on and on. SPF cars are sold as a complete rolling chassis, built in South Africa, and sold through SPF dealers in the USA. All you need to do is provide an an engine and trans. The quality is AMAZING. They arrive with show quality paint, and fully assembled. They aren't kit cars. Yes, they come with 15", pin drive, Safety Wired "knock-offs" (as in.. wheels held on with brass hammer knock off's), wheels. But, modern size wheels are easily available should you opt for them. It's not rare to see an SPF on 17" wheels. Check out ClubCobra.com if you are serious about buying a Cobra. EVERY Cobra manufacturer type has it's own forum, and there is a ton of info on every car. http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/ I had a SuperFormance 427 Cobra. I bought mine used, and it came with a Ford Racing 392 stroker crate motor (the 475hp model), a Tremec 5 speed, and a 3.73 geared Ford IRS. Here are a couple pics.
  7. It would certainly make remote door locking/unlocking easier... having power door locks. HA HA! Sorry, had to...
  8. A good friend of mine is an editor for a well known Mustang magazine. When he made the switch to a rack he quickly said he made a big mistake, as the steering had a weird feel to it. He advised me to not do a rack swap on my '70 Mach, and just to freshen up the stock stuff.
  9. Hoffa is probably hiding with boxes, and boxes, full of Car Craft. LOL
  10. Yea, seems Car Craft isn't too easy to find in some locations. Kind of crazy. Hot Rod and Car Craft should be mandatory magazines in the car section of news stands!
  11. Yep! It actually comes with the kit. But, I got extra to cover all the edges. Since my car is a '70, and the hood supports didn't line up with the '69 supports, they sent it un-drilled. They supplied me with extra moulding to cover any trimming I had to do. They have great service, and had the stuff to me within 24 hours! Granted, they are in Calif, and so am I. LOL
  12. Thanks, guys! I was going to make one myself. But, when I saw their site I figured why not give it a shot. I'm really happy with how it came out.
  13. We sell a bump steer gauge at MM.... not sure if it will work on a vintage Stang though. http://www.maximummotorsports.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=71&products_id=193 You could also call Maier Racing if you want bumpsteer info.... http://www.maierracing.com/
  14. Forgot to post this pic. I installed a radiator cover from UnderCover Innovations. Not only does it clean up the under hood appearance, it also helps box the incoming air from flowing over the radiator. The part was made to fit the '69 model, but they sent me one which didn't have the hood stops drilled. I drilled them, and fit the panel myself. Here is a link if anyone is interested..... http://www.undercoverinnovations.com/optional/69%20Mustang/69%20Mustang%20Anod.htm
  15. Give these guys a call if you really want the car to handle.... http://www.maierracing.com/
  16. Got the rear window straps back from powder coat today, and just installed them....
  17. Thanks!! I love the wheels too. The fitment and quality is great. I am, however, unhappy with the brake caliper clearance between the back of the wheel spokes and the hub. A 13" rotor with a late model Cobra PBR caliper will clear. Yes, they are good brakes. But, I planned to use a larger Stoptech caliper for road racing, and there is NO chance of them clearing. adding a wheel spacer would cure the caliper clearnace situation, but ruin my custom wheel offset!
  18. Trans Am cars ran them because of the pressure build up inside the car at high speeds. It was to help support the glass (or more often plastic/Lexan window material), and keep it in the car. Oh, and rear window straps were officially mandated after the 1960 Daytona 500... when the rear window blew out of the Smokey Yunick '59 Pontiac while Bobby Johns was leading the race. LOL
  19. Has anyone seen it in CC in person yet? It's on the news stands right now. BTW Here is my latest project. I removed the rear window louvers, and am constructing rear window straps which mount using the same holes. It's all to achieve more of the Trans Am racing look. I spent some time bending and shaping the aluminum straps. The straps will be welded to the lower brackets tomorrow, and then get sent out to get powder coated flat black. The rear speakers are going away too, and hidden speakers installed under the rear deck.
  20. Nov 2011 issue of Car Craft!
  21. It's a '70, but you get the idea. 17" Vintage 48 wheels BTW Check the November issue of Car Craft magazine! On the stands soon, to subscribers NOW. My car on page 62.
