  1. I'm probably the weird one here, but I actually want to remove the woodgrain from the interior of my Mach. How is it held to the instrument cluster and passenger side dash?
  2. Yea, and don't tell Trans Am racers the Watts link on their cars are unnecessary with their leaf springs. LOL I'd say if you are already running the Street or Track front stuff, it wouldn't be a bad idea to also run their stuff in the rear. But, don't forget about Maier Racing. God knows Mike Maier knows his stuff with Mustang suspension. http://www.maierracing.com/
  3. Not sure I have ever heard of a Mustang build going after the ride traits of a Lexus. In fact, that's sort of the epitome of what a vintage Mustang is NOT. LOL The majority of Mustang builds are performance oriented, and mushy rides are the last thing wanted. It could be tough to match the ride you are desiring with a vintage Mustang. Just being honest....
  4. Here is Cobrakidz's old '67 T5 I loved how it didn't say MUSTANG on it anywhere. It only had the FORD script, and the T5 logo.
  5. My buddy had one, and just sold it a couple years ago. His was a fastback.. either '67 or '68. I'll see if I can get him to post up here. Cool cars, for sure. Edit: See post below! LOL

    Boss 302

BEAUTIFUL, Boss!! I love that color combo too. BTW Just remember... "It's easier to ask for forgiveness, than it is to ask for permission". HA!
  7. The brake shoe springs should keep the shoes from falling off. It may be that the 9" rear doesn't use one. I'm not home to check my shop manuals, or vehicle though. Best bet, do a search online for 9" rear brake diagram. EDIT: Here, I saved you the trouble.
  8. RUG would only be part of the ID tag info. There is no joke about 30 different RUG numbers, but all have another character or two.... like RUG-A, or RUG-J2, etc. Here is a web site with all the tag info. Just scroll down to the correct RUG tag number once you have all the info, and it will tell you exactly what you have... http://www.5speeds.com/toploader.html#tag
  9. I think that 570 might be a good choice for you. The slightly smaller CFM won't hurt, and there is the option to adjust the float level should it be needed. The fixed float in the other one seems like it could become an issue should the level not be quite right for your application. You will probably be lucky enough to just bolt the 570 on, and drive away.
  10. It's not that it doesn't have a float, it's just non-adjustable, and is set at a pre-adjusted height. It sounds like a good idea, but I don't know anyone who has one.
  11. Yea, I guarantee there is NOTHING stock about the suspension in that car. That car is cool, but the wrong car to try and copy to achieve the same "look".
  12. I have 255/40 on the front of my '70, with no clearance issues. I'm sure Von Gittin's drift car has a wider rim (probably 9"), and wheels with an outward offset to increase track width.

    Boss 302

Wow, congrats!!! Ford really did their homework with the new Boss cars. They did the Boss name proud!!
  14. Having most of the interior out, no sound deadening material, and air shocks (usually a band-aid for worn out suspension), it doesn't shock me you're not happy with the ride and sound of the car. It sounds like you have several issues to address to fix the issue.
  15. I have a buddy who owns an all late model Mustang salvage yard in KS... Midwest Mustang. He has a ton of used 5 speeds. I'll put his Email address below, and you can see what he will do for a nice used T5. PED5STANG@aol.com
  16. Yea, seriously pass on that 4 speed... no matter the price. They are horribly weak. I would pay $60 for someone to take it from me, if I had one. LOL BTW I work part time for Maximum Motorsports, and was a Ford tech for many years. I have a TON of experience with Fox Mustangs... and have first hand experience with those 4 speed crap boxes.
  17. Those 4 speeds are JUNK, and routinely break behind the wimpy 157hp of the '82 GT. Hold out for something better, like a T5 at least.
  18. Wow! That's awesome! I've never heard of a GPS signaled speedometer. TOO cool.
  19. I would think it will warp with only 3 mounting screws.
  20. I think you would be fine with a 600. Yea, it may be more than you really need. But, it should work just fine.
  21. I would look at Ford Racing's selection of roller cams too. They have some nice grinds, for decent prices.
  22. One of these? http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=SK2B+01&catkey=65-73$srccode=MUEMVWEB
  23. The problem is if you want to go cheap... don't expect top get an accurate/top quality shaker assembly. You already found out what happens when you do.
