  1. Guy's, I have a mate with a 427 s/o in a 70 Fastback as well, he has a Cobra Jet bonnet scoop, he wants a 2x4 manifold setup that will clear. Let me know what you have that may fit. Darryl
  2. Guy's, Check the cam specs, if you dont know then for 108-110 deg lobe cam try initial 14deg BTDC @ 850rpm / total advance should be around 36deg. This should be a good starting point if it is as described.

  4. Guy's, I have a 70 fastback running a 427, 4 speed, with 215 x65x 15 Radial T/A on 15x7 prolites with 1"shelby drop, and 275 x 60 x 15 Comp t/A on 15 x 8 Prolites with standard 9" housing. The rear inside tyre rubs slightly, only with passengers onboard, fronts are fine, 235's do rub and steering is a lot harder with no P/S.

  6. Guy's, I NEED HELP!!!! I am looking for the following info a 70 Mustang Mach 1 M Code 351 4V, it is usually on the drivers door, however I do not have that door or info: GVWR ............ lbs Gross Vehicle Weight Ratio GAWR: Front..........lbs Rear:...........lbs MFD By Ford Motor Co. Date:101/70 GVWR .............. GAWR:Front ...... Rear ........ Trans:5 Axle:V DSO:72
  7. Guy's, I have a 70 Fastback with a 427Fe engine, webers, Bla, bla. Anyway I want to clean up the engine bay of as much as possible. (you know the jewel in the box thing) Anyway, I want to relocate what I can (Booster / mastercylinder), so can you guy's let me know what you have done along the lines I am looking. I ran a seperate power booster (VH40) in the 70's on the inner fender of a street car that worked, however it was a looked a bit messy with lines etc. Anyway let me know
  8. Buddy, I have a 70 fastback with a FE 427, 4speed, bla, bla, I also have factory discs / power booster, and rear drums, I upgraded to a 4 piston Kelsey Hayes up front (they fit in 15 "wheels) and 11"single piston (they also fit in 15"rears) with performance pads and fluid, steel brake lines. No braking dramas. However bigger diameter wheels open up better options, if that is your focus. I only ever wanted 15"dia wheels, so I'm happy, maybe i'll go to 2 or 4 spot calipers on the rears, however presently I just don't need them. Oh by the way, locking up brakes, front, back, whatever is no test of braking performance. Thats a whole different discussion.
  9. Buddy, Welcolme, I have a 70 fastback with a FE 427 S/O engine, 4 speed Top loader, 3.89 - 9", bla bla. I must admit I had a similar thought, given I have 4 x 48IDA webers and I love the way it freaks most people out when the bonnet gets lifted, the webers do need constant attention (temp, humidity, barametric pressure changes, effects these dam things) however I really wanted a fifth gear for hwy use also, so given I put out around 600hp and 600ftlbs and I had a really reliable top loader (why change) I decided on a Gear Vendors under-drive (great unit) and I have started putting a EFI system together, TWM intakes & throats, ECU, programable Haltech, etc. I still want the weber type look. I havn't had any luck with the efi tuned units, etc, maybe others have (let me know). EFI is not cheap, but given the cam I have the EFI will smooth it out a bit (I hope) anyway dont let EFI scare you, just start saving, and build what suits you. I have less than 1500mls on a original M code mach 1 (except motor, gearbox, exhaust) However you have to build a FE 427 S/O one day, (maybe slip a 428 crank in for good measure, I did) they are truely a great engine. Anyway have fun with whatever you do. Darryl
  10. Guy's, I am looking for a set of Period Type Thunderbird FE 427 Rocker Covers, and associated emblems. Please!!!!
  11. LSG, the motor is not original, it is a 68, 427 s/o, hyd camed block, with 428 crank & rods, Ross pistons, crower cam, 4 x 48 IDA webers, Bla Bla. Anyway its a nice car with a nice motor combo. oh the car is LHD and driven 2-3 days a week, no trailer queen.
  12. Buddy, are the gauges still for sale, I only need the tacho but will buy the lot if still for sale. please send price.
  13. Guy's I am after the engine / vin number, I have the Block ID info. It is a 68 so I am told that 68 year and up have a engine/vin number stamped on the block, but where.
