  1. you can use a spot weld buster to get rid of them real quick vegas - just tapped it off with a hammer and then weld up the holes.
  2. looking good. i'm sure you will be a little nervous the first time you spin the car around, i know i would be lol
  3. Who were you going to buy your suspension parts from? I am currently working on scouting all that out myself.
  4. they make special curved hammers to do that. Also, you could possibly swing by a body shop and see if they have a door skin tool that they would run across the bottom for a box of donuts or something. It will look better than being all hammered up.
  5. its not 100% accurate, it still has indents in the front for the drain openings. It should be flat.
  6. Wow...im interested to see this one progresses. Looks like a lot of work ahead of you!
  7. looking good. That is a bad area on some of these cars.
  8. small update - i tried to get some time in on the car over this past 4 day weekend, but we are also in the process of building a house. So it killed my production time. Headlight buckets are fit up, and fillered up to fit. The hood was skim coated with icing because when i blocked the e-coat, i found some high and low spots. Sorry the pics suck, my Droid hasn't been working that great lately, thinking of going iPhone.
  9. Everyone says an FE is expensive to rebuild. Why is that?
  10. looks like fun! Looking back now, i wish i had made a rotisserie...i'll be thinking of that when i am laying on my back welding and grinding the underside of the car.
  11. ah i see what you are saying lol...kinda threw me there for a second.
  12. i welded mine in, i got fed up with it also lol
  13. It was legit ...its an awesome show. I wanted to scope out some 69s that were in one piece
  14. This is the trick. It heats up the screw and gets you a way to put good torque on the screw. Check out my build thread. Took me longer to get the welder out and find nuts than it did to complete the job.
  15. are those what Summit sells?
  16. At the top where the plate mounts, i'm going to use a set of small J brackets. Thats the plan right now but i may find a better idea once i get into it a little more. I'm trimming 3/8ths off the bracket that holds the bumpers on it, so that will not stick out. Great question though. Those are the little items that consume your time.
  17. i love my overhead storage....its spoiled me.
  18. thanks Mike, I usually pull out the Mrs. car to work on mine when i am kicking up a lot of dust, but it is JUST deep enough for the mach to fit in there. I'm going to rearrange this summer and mov my tool box and work bench so i can gain a few more inches in the back.
  19. Its hard to see all the progress but i have been working on the car for about 40 minutes every morning before work. The roof, quarters, deck lid, jams and quarter panel extensions are all ready for primer after hitting them with a pass of 180 on the board file. The doors, drivers fender and hood ecoat are all blocked out and fit up. my wife is not a huge fan of the dusty mess either...can't blame her.
  20. its coming a long well. Are you using the original wiring? You may have mentioned it and I've forgotten.
  21. i'd hate to see whats in the frame rails or rockers!
  22. Does the fuel pump get in the way of the driver's side water pump outlet?
