Also, just as a heads up....have you researched removing plasti-dip off of primer? I'd imagine it's horrible. Plasti-dip peels off cars that have paint, probably stick to primer. Just a thought.

Do you recall what was rubbing up front? The fenders, splash shields or the actual control arms?

I know this has been beaten to death but I have to ask. When I used the SEARCH function it kept coming back "No Results". Anyway, I'm looking to pick up a set of wheels I found locally. They're Mustang Bullets and they are 18X9 with an ET25 offset. The tires are 255 45 18. If I'm not mistaken that means they're 25mm, right? Which is just under an inch of offset. Additional info: The car has a 2 inch suspension drop. The control arms are in the stock location (No shelby drop). Do you think these are a good match, typically aren't 69's zero offset? They're a great price so I'd like to snag them. Again, sorry if this is beating a dead horse. It seems like something I could easily find but I'm having trouble searching the forum for it.

So today I was in the garage messing around, cleaning fender bolts with my wire wheel. Then I got to the fender clips and started thinking. I have a bottle of this stuff on my work truck: Liquid Scale Dissolver by Nu-Calgon. It's a hydrochloric acid that dissolves anything and eats at metal. Straight dissolver with the bolts submerged for 3 minutes took them to an insanely clean level. Basically refinished them by eating off a bit of surface. I really wish I took before and after photos but I didn't. Next time I will. HOWEVER, you must be VERY careful with this stuff. It's hydrochloric acid, VERY DANGEROUS. Rubber gloves, spash goggles, use outdoors only or with a proper respirator, etc.. Then I cleaned my hood hinges and other parts. Wow! They were covered in years of oily grease and gunk. Pulled them out and they're shiny. Now I have to paint all this stuff that I cleaned today before it rusts. :euro:
