  1. Ok guys you have convinced me. But what about the efi conversions that edelbrock and others make. All the conversion kits I've looked at seem pretty simple and say they add power and overall performance.
  2. I have been doin some research and found a couple forums. From what i can tell it seems like i would need to change the upper and lower manifolds.
  3. Hey guys. i have a 69 with a 302 and c4 tranny. i found a guy selling an 89 351w with efi everything included for $450. Seems legit but is there anything i should know? wasn't sure if i can still use my 69 c4 with it.
  4. Ive been reading about gt40p heads. anyone know how well these work?

  6. Im trying to make a powerful daily driver. Im not trying to dump money into a drag car engine. I guess my main question is would it be cheaper to get stock heads ported or buy new ones.

  8. Hey guys, this past weekend i picked up a really nice 351w short block at the swap meet and plan on replacing my 302 with it. I heard I can use my 302 heads if i drill out the holes. However, i would rather get some with better air flow. Im not sure if it would be better (or cheaper) to just take them to a machine shop and get them ported and stuff or just buy some fancy aftermarket ones. Any advice?...

  10. My main concern is that I've already quite a bit of work on the engine and i have been getting parts for a 69 302. But im pretty sure 289 and 302 parts are mostly the same.
  11. Now i just checked out a different engine code guide and it looks like the engine is a "Generic Full size ford". In case im missing something here is the code i got off the block: 0 c5ae 6015e
  12. A 289?! This day keeps getting better and better lol. Is there any way to tell if its a 302 or 289, other than measuring the bore and stroke?
  13. After doing some research on my 69 coupes engine, i found out my 302 is out of a 65 galaxie. Since its not the stock engine i have decided to modify it. I've considered boring and/or stroking the engine. I don't have any experience with either of these. This is a just for fun type car so im not concerned of fuel economy. Any advice or suggestions would be great. Thanks
  14. Well I took for a drive today, and the problem randomly went away! I guess that's good. Thanks for all the replys but so I couldn't find the actual problem.
  15. Checked the level when I got home before I turned off the engine.
