  5. Thanks for the responses, my panels have already been vacuum metalized (chromed) I just need the detail expertise to paint them. I tried Tachman and Ray Azcue and both claim they only detail panels that use their plater. I think I emailed AI and they didnt bother to return my email.

  11. I had my instrument and clock panel from my 70 Mach 1 vacuum metallized and am ready to paint detail them. Have any of you done this before? I have a 69 panel and clock panel to use as a pattern but have a few things I could use some guidance on. I think most of it is flat black except for the instrument bezels. I have read they are an argent silver but cant find anything by that name. Does anyone have pics of their nice original instrument panel that illustrates what these should look like? Also any pointers on detail painting? I know it will be alot of fine masking as only the raised surfaces are left chrome. Any advice is appreciated
  12. On the 70, its actually three studs and three lock nuts that mount the column to the underside of the dash. Is probably different on the 69.
  13. I do have one but you probably arent going to like it. Most of the lower outside flange is cracked. Not a very good pic. You can have it if you can use it.
  14. I converted my fixed column to tilt and may have an extra, will have to look.
  15. You are talking where it mounts to the underside of the dash or where it mounts as it passes thru the firewall? I have pictures of all of them from my 70 if they are same as your 69 coupe.
  16. I painted mine body color on the bottom side usisng basecoat/clearcoat. A little over the top for some but I wanted it to look like candy from the bottom side. I left factory undercoat in the wheel wells and will line the inside with sound deadener. As little as the car will be driven, this is the route I decided on.
  17. Yup, is a good idea about the foam board insulation. Those steel studs look pretty thin but still lots of potential. Do you plan to insulate and finish it? Maybe place some heavy plywood sheets for overhead storage?
