7TCatvert got a reaction from RPM in 2013 Mustang seats in a 69 Sportroof
I unbolted the 14 stock seat rails.   It looks like I am going to be able to just put square metal across the bottom and bolt the stock rails on to it...the seats are actually lower than stock...

Bought a couple of Led headlights off eBay and installed today. Took a drive tonight and after 30 minutes of aiming, could not have asked for better results....Brighter than stock by a lot. I did just 2 since I very seldom ever need brights. They look almost like the originals. Install took about 40 minutes, true plug and play. I did trim off the tabs on the back of the lights to fit in the bucket deeper. The trim rings fit just like stock.

7TCatvert got a reaction from Ardmxurfal in New aluminum Radiator
My 390 had been running a little hot around 200. It was new heavy duty radiator from MU.

I decided to switch it out to an aluminum one off eBay. I have a Griffen one in my Cougar but was not going to spend another 600. So I thought I would give this one a chance.

Lowered the temp down to 185, all day long. Fit was perfect and it looks good in natural color.

I now have an extra radiator if anyone needs one.

I was about to mention that my aftermarket lights are a bit looser than my original ones were in my crappy sail panels LOL.

Heck Ridge you could leave the hole out all together if you wanted and let folks do what they please with it.
I would actually like to have a larger, Brighter set of lights back there myself as our cars never seem to have enough light inside, but Ill take em how ever you make em.

Just a heads up, Since I also make the sail panels for our headliner, I found out there is a big difference between the original and the aftermarket lights. We just have a dimple where the light goes and let the customer cut out the size he needs.

If it's the one that matches OEM then it is the better choice.  They are made much different and stronger than the less expensive aftermarket export braces.  I don't recall part numbers but the one I purchased from NPD was advertised as identical to the original.  I use to have an original and these are in fact almost identical.  The original I use to have still seemed to be made from a little thicker material.

From my experience the OEM copy repro fits just like the OEM did.  Because of years of wear on the car I had to learn how to jack up the car to open up the top of the shock towers a little.  Essentially, loosen all the top fender bolts except the front and rear bolt.  Then jack up the car at the frame location where the lower control arms attach to the frame.  Two floor jacks make it easier.  The top of the shock towers will open up about 1/4".

Nothing like having a car look better after an accident than before...Make sure to up that insured amount...glad you were able to find a trusted shop, that is always my concern when friends need to fix their cars...all body shops are not created equal...

I bought a supposed rebuilt 1965 428 engine and transmission out of a 65 t bird. The engine was all painted real nice and detailed, new valve covers and he had it all wrapped up in plastic. Same with the transmission. That night take it out of the package and notice the intake manifold did not seem to have a new gasket and neither did the exhaust manifold which were on it. I started to sweat. I take off the intake and there is mouse house inside. Off With the valve covers just covered in sludge.

I am pissed...call the guy up and no answer of course. Send him an email. He writes back oh no was rebuilt 20 years ago it's been wrapped up since I don't know what you mean.

Paid cash of course so no recourse. Take it into my machinist tell him to tear it down and see if it is salvageable.

A week later I get a call from the engine guy...Good news and bad news. Bad news, engine needs a rebuild but only one cylinder wall is really bad. The heads are need a rebuild, the manifolds are cracked and don't match the engine.

Good news the engine is a 70 428 cobra jet. Never been bored...holy crap I guess the t birds engine blew and they replaced it with a 428cj out of a mustang. The manifold was still from the 65 t bird and the exhaust manifolds also which is why the fit so bad.

So I call the guy who sold me the engine and leave him a message. The engine you sold me ended up being a 428CJ, thanks.

Guess what I get 5 min later, a phone call. Him explaining that I got the wrong engine, he just found the one he was supposed to sell me that was his engine. I said ok and hung up. I think he sent me an email once a day for about 2 months trying to get the engine back.

So now my cougar has a date correct engine, even though it came with a 351c. My engine is probably worth more that the rest of the car. When I sell it ( never) or rather when I die. The engine can go to a nice 70 r code mustang where it belongs....
