  1. What would estimate the cost of making one....if you were given a core wheel?
  2. It does not blow when the flasher can is removed. Thanks I will track that wire down and see what it looks like....
  3. So yes with the column connector disconnected it still blows. The flasher is new. I also suspect it is in the dash. I also disconnected the gauges and still blows so it's not the gauges. Over Christmas vacation I will remove the dash harness and go over all the wires and track it down.
  4. The brake lights work. I unhooked the dash and the fuse for the emergency lights still blow. The blinkers are still not working in any capacity now. I have visually checked just about everything I can see and no problems are obvious, such as split wires or screws through anything.
  5. Not blowing when they are off just when I turn them on....wheel is off, nothing obvious.
  6. Randy, thanks for the response...you actually rebuilt my system, so not sure where I messed something up. Is it possible it is something in the headlight harness. I retapped everything but am considering taking it all out and going through it...
  7. Post in the garage section...I know they make a kit for the 69 and 70s also so I for one would be interested...isn't the kit like 4K...I would think with body work would be more than the effort?
  8. So just about done with the 69 getting all the finally assembly finished. I check the headlights all is good, the parking lights are good, the turn signal lights are all on. Check the emergency lights no good, no blinkers, what is the matter. All of these things had been working less than a week ago. Dash lights are all working. The fuse is blowing. I took off the flasher cans, installed a new fuse and went to try and hook up the emergency can and blew again. New fuse hooked up the blinker can, no blinkers but no blown fuse. Switched to a new emergency flash can and blew the fuse. I the ground at the relay, in the trunk, the dash, cowl all are metal to metal contact. Next I take an extra turn signal switch and plug it in, turn on the blinkers, they work but smoke starts coming from the switch wiring. That's not good. I may have burnt up my first switch and not known it, that's would be great. So where do I start now, any suggestions?
  9. Nothing to lose by using the fox if it blows then use an aod or c4. I have a buddy who builds the c4 for applications for around 900. Remember if you change transmission then the drive shaft has to be reworked.
  10. I found the hose schematic online and this weekend will be able to track each hose to the proper place and make sure one by one...also it is an ac car but ac is discontected I wonder if that would effect it...
  11. So, my Hvac switch is not working right the blower works fine it is stuck on defrost. Which I guess, I read, is the default. So steps to take to diagnosis. 1 test the vacuum can and then check lines are hooked up.... Then?
  12. I am running 3.25 in mine since I seem to drive on the highway quite a bit. It is ok off the line but real nice when I hit it about 30-50 and I get decent mph (12)...
  13. Finally able to drive it more than a mile....seem to have all of the electrical, ignition, leaks ect worked out. Need to finish a few interior items, get he exhaust welded up and then back to the body shop for panel alignment...4 years is a really long time to be this close, too bad fall is over and winter is right around the corner. I guess over the winter I can work on a sound system....
  14. Wow this has been quite a chase on a problem.... So here is what ended up happening, I think. Ended up being a fuel problem in that the carb was getting starved. I used a fuel pump on my car that I put on when I first bought the car. It could have had some debris I. It that was clogging it. I also changed the fuel hose that went from the hard line to the pump it was fuel line but I replaced it with fuel injector hose which is harder. Started her up and viola she now runs as she should, kind of....I still have some tuning to do on the carb having some tip in stumble. The thing runs great though lots of power coming out of the 390. Still need an exhaust to be hooked up properly but it's going to be a lot of fun...
  15. I have a 69 that I put in a new gas tank. I also at the same time put on a gas cap from a 68 mustang get the flip down one.....my question.... Is this a vented cap? Part number C7ZA-9A107-b If not I think Imfound my fuel problem...
  16. I am having new resto bugs. The one is the car is running for a short time 300yrds about 5 minutes the car runs great then starts to stumble and stop running and won't start or will start and die right away. Changed out the distributor, points, coil and the car is getting gas. I do need a better ground strap but was thinking I just put a generic pvc valve on and I do have a closed oil cap. Could this be a problem are pvc valves all differ not as far as the pressure to open or close?
  17. No relay needed for led lights...just hid.....I have led lights on my z car and work much better looking for the led for the 69 and that kit may be the ticket
  18. http://www.ebay.com/itm/201410552965?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649 I used the griffen radiator on my 70 with the 428cj and even when 100 outside never goes above 190 and looks stock with no fans....
  19. Mounted the fenders...and took my first drive in 4 years. Made it about a mile and it broke down. I am pretty sure the wire to the coil is not getting 12v. I have pertronix on it and need to run a direct wire to 12v source. Also the tach was all over the palce just read where it may need an inline resister.... I am getting close. It sure was fun those first 200 yards.
  20. I bought a set of stainless steel ones and never looked back...
  21. Wow. I cant believe its been 4 years since I started this project. It was definitely my most ambitious and complete. I pretty much replaced or reconditioed every part on this car. Going from a automatic to a 4 speed on a big block is much harder than I thought. Having to do a rebuild of the engine was not planned, getting layed off 2x was not planned. The good thing was I kept on it a little at a time and she is almost done. I am on the final assembly and hopefully will get to drive her before the snow starts.
  22. I had to drop the front and rear about 1 1/2 to get it to look right along with the spacers car drove much better with the larger wheels...
  23. I always order dist, alt, starters from orielly...they have lifetime replacements and usually have them close enough to get from a store. I have a main store up the street so usually have them in stock... Other than that the pertronix billet dist are very nice pieces...
  24. I used the aftermarket on my front and rear as well as drip (from cj pony) agreed they are thinner but they fit and look good. Look Much better than my dented up originals...
