danno got a reaction from capemustang in New hidden Bluetooth radio - and while I have the dash out...
There are many bluetooth receivers available, some are under $10.  I have mine hooked up to my Factory AM/FM radio,  so I click a switch and it changes from AM/Fm to bluetooth receiver.   That way the volume and tone knobs work for the sound coming from my phone, through the radio, and to the speakers.
I did this modification on a 1973 Ford factory radio so I have the original appearance.  I can do it for anyone else who is interested.

I had a visit to my doctor and he said I needed drastic surgery.  I doubted it, so I told him I wanted a second opinion.  He said, "OK, your're ugly too"
That is an old but faithful Rodney line.

Bummer about this. It has probably happened to a lot of us. I know it happened to me, but the value was under $50.  I would definitely raise it to SAAC forum and vintage mustangs forums.  I am not sure if it will help, but maybe point out to Fast Fords that you will be taking all actions possible.  You might also mention you have contacted your friend in Toronto who is an attorney.  You know the guy, I have used him to.

Or you could just buy a complete harness, just like you want, from Midlife.  It has real wires and not the flexible circuit card.

Oh, there are so many differences.  70 has different ignition switch, and different breakout position of turn signal switch.  It has a massive section going out to the starter solenoid, so many wires are eliminated from the fuse box junction for the headlight harness.  The 70 also has RUN-only fused lines running through the harness.  Rear tail light harness connectors are different as well.
The only good thing about 70's is that the headlight harness is identical for tach and non-tach dashes, but there is a variant for the Mach 1 for the sportslamps.

Yes, I kind of assumed you tried the easiest things first.
    1 Good battery
2 Clean battery posts and cables.  .
    3 Good solenoid.
    4 Good starter wire cable.
5  Good ground from battery to engine.
These are easy to check and verify they are working before replacing  the starter.

I am wondering if the starter has bad.  A similar thing happened to me.  The brushes in the motor were not making good contact when they were hot, and so it would not start when it was hot.  It would start when the starter motor cooled off.
If it happens again ( not starting when the engine is hot) have a bunch of water with you.  Dump a bunch of water on the starter to cool it off. Then see if it starts. You have to be careful not to get water on the exhaust or engine block, but just on the starter.

OK, if both headlights and not the taillights are doing this is can only be the following
    1 light switch
    2 headlight dimmer switch
3 connection between under dash harness and under hood harness.
Pull up the carpet on the dimmer switch and examine it for a solid or weak connection.
Mach 1 driver called it Wiggle, I call it Jiggle.  Maybe what you call it depends on where you live or what you are jiggling?
But I say it now looks like the most likely contributor to this is the headlight switch.
The simple solution is to be home before sundown.

I understand this. If the brake light works, that means the headlight switch is connected and getting 12 volts. If the PRND light works, that also means the switch is getting 12 volts, but it also means the switch is ( at least partially) working. Just using these to narrow it down a bit.

You must like projects.  You already have the best cars available to mankind, yet you step back to the simple 70 coupe. It is so great to see another one of us who appreciates the old metal.

Ummm...the Covid Relief bill ($900B) is embedded in the omnibus funding bill for the rest of the government (excepting Defense Dept.).  The money sent outside the US is part of the standard State Department and other related agencies.

I just had a talk with the guy about it.  He used to have a car that this came out of, and that car was sold many years ago.  Unfortunately the unique wiring harnesses that go with the tack were sold with that car.   He is going to put it on ebay motors soon, and raise the price.   So if anyone wants this, jump on it now.  Midlife can probably either modify your existing wire harnesses to accept it.
The price on ebay will probably be cosiderable more, because of the fees involved.
