  1. I am having a bit of trouble with the battery/ battery tray.

I went to Napa and they gave me "the battery" and it was 12" long. Type 27? Wrong one.

Went back and they gave me another that is less than 9" long.

I suppose it really does not matter (electrically), but the dynacorn tray is about 10 inches long. Does anyone have a Napa part number that actually fits properly?

  2. The seller got $20, minus the eBay fee, and then paid $2.09 to ship the part to me.

What did Pitney Bowes do in this transaction? As far as I can see, they collected money and provided nothing in return.

  3. So here is my rant.

I bought a part off eBay. It was $20. But eBay then charged me $14.95 shipping, plus $7.88 import fee.

Then the seller tells me that he shipped it, and it cost him $2.09 for shipping. I check PayPal and I see that the transaction has been split, $20 to the seller, and $22.83 to Pitney Bowes.

So, I ask myself....what the heck just happened here? And what do I do about it?

  4. The catch here is that the shipping and import charges are zero.

So I will advise my friend to ensure to have a buyer lined up prior to departure.

I would think that, with the challenge of restoring such a car in another country, top quality cars would be in high demand.

Mine for £40k all in would be a bargain?

  5. A few years back I took a military posting to the UK. At the time, I put my car in storage and I have a nightmare story about that which is not the topic of this post.

While I was there, I came to realize that I should have brought a top quality Mustang with me when I moved there. Now, a good friend is planning his posting to England and he asked my advice. I told him to bring a '69 Mustang. He looked at me with bewilderment of course, but is now looking into it. In fact, I am considering sending him with mine now that it is finished. Mine is appraised at $72k Cnd, but would likely sell significantly higher in England. What experience from our readers? Is this something I should pursue, or shy from?

  6. It is amazing how many Gulfstream Aqua '69 Fastbacks are out there these days. This is such a popular color! Mine also is Gulfstream Aqua. It originally had a black interior also, but I just had to switch it out for a white one. Icy!

There are three '69 Mach I's in this city. They are all the same color. The other two have black interiors. They are all 351w cars.

  7. The hood came off of a car from Arizona, got the hood and a shaker for $400.00. Do you guys know anybody that needs a shaker?

If the shaker has an original base for a '69 with 351w, then I am quite interested. The shop made one for me, but can't beat an original.

  8. The rear of the interior is done, installed fold down rear seat, trap door, carpet, 3pt retractable seat belts, an sail panels.

Next up, complete under dash wiring, install dash, steering wheel and reupholstered seats.

If you have photos and details of the rear seat belts, I am very interested. What did you take the belts from? How did you mount? Very interested. I'd like to get 3 point retractables installed also. How could this work with a fold down seat??
