  2. Found all pulleys required. Some friends have seen the set up and will be looking to replicate.
  3. I am having a bit of trouble with the battery/ battery tray. I went to Napa and they gave me "the battery" and it was 12" long. Type 27? Wrong one. Went back and they gave me another that is less than 9" long. I suppose it really does not matter (electrically), but the dynacorn tray is about 10 inches long. Does anyone have a Napa part number that actually fits properly?

    eBay woes

Update to the story, the seller was instructed to mail the part to Pitney Bowes in Kentucky. It looks like they act as middleman. I will not fall for this trick again...

    eBay woes

The seller got $20, minus the eBay fee, and then paid $2.09 to ship the part to me. What did Pitney Bowes do in this transaction? As far as I can see, they collected money and provided nothing in return.

    eBay woes

So here is my rant. I bought a part off eBay. It was $20. But eBay then charged me $14.95 shipping, plus $7.88 import fee. Then the seller tells me that he shipped it, and it cost him $2.09 for shipping. I check PayPal and I see that the transaction has been split, $20 to the seller, and $22.83 to Pitney Bowes. So, I ask myself....what the heck just happened here? And what do I do about it?
  7. Not if the service member registers it there first. In that case, it is like any other used car sold in the UK.
  8. The value of a car like mine is that it is actually rust free, like a new car. Not a painted over rust bucket like others have bought off eBay and ended up discovering the damage once the car is in the UK.
  9. Don't get too excited now, you missed the $CDN part. The Canadian dollar has taken a kicking. That is only $50k USD.
  10. The catch here is that the shipping and import charges are zero. So I will advise my friend to ensure to have a buyer lined up prior to departure. I would think that, with the challenge of restoring such a car in another country, top quality cars would be in high demand. Mine for £40k all in would be a bargain?
  11. A few years back I took a military posting to the UK. At the time, I put my car in storage and I have a nightmare story about that which is not the topic of this post. While I was there, I came to realize that I should have brought a top quality Mustang with me when I moved there. Now, a good friend is planning his posting to England and he asked my advice. I told him to bring a '69 Mustang. He looked at me with bewilderment of course, but is now looking into it. In fact, I am considering sending him with mine now that it is finished. Mine is appraised at $72k Cnd, but would likely sell significantly higher in England. What experience from our readers? Is this something I should pursue, or shy from?
  12. Just canceled my CJ Pony order due to back ordered parts, again. I suspect CJ Pony is having trouble paying their bills. It seems they don't carry parts in stock.
  13. yet another '69 Gulfstream Aqua build. Mine hits the road on Friday. Seven years ago it was a bare frame.
  14. I am running an Edelbrock 600cfm carb on the E-Street intake. The shop made the air cleaner base for me so that the shaker sat correct. I think they did a great job.
  15. Can anyone tell me if a 351w car with A/C should have the water pump outlet on the driver or passenger side, or does it matter? It follows that the bottom radiator hole will be on the same side as the water pump. I was told the 351w water pump outlet is on the passenger side until mid year. Tonight someone mentioned the A/C difference..
  16. It is amazing how many Gulfstream Aqua '69 Fastbacks are out there these days. This is such a popular color! Mine also is Gulfstream Aqua. It originally had a black interior also, but I just had to switch it out for a white one. Icy! There are three '69 Mach I's in this city. They are all the same color. The other two have black interiors. They are all 351w cars.
  17. Just saw this online and I had to post here. My initial reaction was WTF? But, I respect anyone who has a vision and is prepared to carry it through. So, what are your thoughts? Not quite Eleanor... maybe Ellenor?
  18. The sound system installation is going to have it's own unique challenges I see. This will have to be defered until the car is out of the shop and the restoration is "done".
  19. If the shaker has an original base for a '69 with 351w, then I am quite interested. The shop made one for me, but can't beat an original.
  20. If you have photos and details of the rear seat belts, I am very interested. What did you take the belts from? How did you mount? Very interested. I'd like to get 3 point retractables installed also. How could this work with a fold down seat??
  21. The intake is an Eledbrock E-Street performer fed by an Edelbrock 600 carb. No spacer. The air cleaner was hand fabricated to fit.
  22. The shop is installing the interior. The last minute items are being hunted down, but the cookie jar is far past empty. Thank goodness I bought most of the parts when the Canadian Dolalr was at par or above the USD. If any of my Canadian bretheren are interested in helping out a fellow Canuck, I still need an Export Brace and a good set of roof pillar emblems.
