  3. Yep. I do. the paint is peeling a bit but you get the idea. I don't think the pic of the chrome one from the car show made my final cut, but it's easy enough to photo shop or imagine I suppose
  4. I've seen four things done - the gray, a semi black, body color, and one dude at a car show had them chromed. i'm not sure if I got a picture or not.. if I find it I'll post it. I didn't dig them chromed, I think I'm going to just go with a semi black myself. right now they are body color.
  5. Wow. first thing I would want to do is talk to the garage myself. My wife is pretty car savvy but sometimes things get lost in translation. A lot of mechanics that i've worked with still have a generally dismissive attitude toward telling ladies what's up with a car or the process, and after a day or so they might have a better feel for what they can get done and in what time frame. the next thing I would do is call the guy that sold it to me, or possibly go straight to the head of sales or the dealership manager - stay cool - explain the situation and your concerns and see what they offer. then work from there. let them know it will only get ugly if they make it ugly, write out all your concerns first and keep working the list - don't let them sly talk you off topic.. I think I would also start looking at my state's lemon laws and talk to a lawyer, unless you're comfortable with all the legalese in your warranty contract. Good luck!
  6. I'm working on scoring up all the parts I need for my coupe - a local guy has a factory oem mach style scoop he'll sell me for $100. I've really had my eye on the fordramair shaker kits -$700 I can make the pie cuts and make the scoop functional and get the finned air cleaner so it matches my valve covers like my shaker would have does anyone have any thoughts on the fordramair kits or aftermarket shaker kits? or any advice over one or the other at all? cheers Z
  7. Nice! When i got my mustang we still had a tiny little single car garage.. i recommend putting some rubber padding on the walls where your doors open if it's as narrow as mine was.. when you show it to friends and they eagerly open the door into the wall... those doors are longer than they look. one of the most satisfying things i've done as a home owner was create "My" space in the garage.
  8. start buying those dolls, looks like now you've got until October.

  10. our local farm co op has an item that you hang up - repels flying insects. No clue what its called, but dad uses them in his garage and no wasps, bees, yellow jackets or flys make a home there. they fly in but leave quickly. looks like yellow jelly in a white hook frame.
  11. would you believe I'm on septic.. no good tricks for catching it from the nipple of the draincock? I think I have a way with a milk carton and an extra hole and funnel...

  15. I have some coolant related questions: Tried the search but didn't come up with quite what I wanted Both the lower hose and the petcock are over the frame rails on my 69 Grande.. is there a 'clean' way to drain the Rad? what size hose fits over the petcock, or has anyone butchered a gallon jug to make a good funnel? 2. I have a chrome Tstat housing that appears to be leaking around the gasket - are all Chrome housings the O ring style or were some made with the reg gasket? i'm trying to do this in as few trips to the part store as possible.. har de harr harr.. so far none of the chain auto stores will accept used coolant - the service shops will charge... at that point I may as well let them do the work too and get a full flush, and Tstat, gasket.. cheers z

  17. 31 years old, married, got a dog. No kids. I was an operations manager for 8 years - first job after college and just got laid off in February.. So now i'm doing some freelance consulting and random maintenance/menial labor for friends and family.. and spending a lot of time here thinking about the work I'll do to the mustang once the weather breaks and pondering a career change

  19. no doubt... it took me until 31 with no kids to get a jeep, motorcycle and mustang.. none of which were 100%..and i've had to sell off two of 'em....that is a helluva collection for a college guy.. but then again maybe if I'd have spent less money one chasing beer and tail and more money on custom rides...
  20. I need new woodgrain backing plates for my 69 grande. I've found that CJ Pony carries the ones for the doors. Does anyone know if you can get the one for the console without the decal already applied? I haven't found the ones for the rear interior yet either, anyone seen those anywhere? cheers Z
