  1. sweet! I wondered if you were from that thread - didn't get a chance to look.
  2. Powershift - do you have a gallery of finished parts you've done this process to?
  3. Right now mine are all bare metal from peeling off the wood grain. I may just hit it with a wire wheel or some sort of brush and clear coat it.. Jwscarab - if you find any other pictures maybe we should start a thread in the picture forum or something for ideas?
  4. I ran a little bit of black RTV around the dash lights and gauges of my old CJ to keep squeaks, rattles, and light emission to a minimum. I let it cure before assembly so it became sort of like a gasket. I suppose you could let some skin up on one surface or the other on the Mustang dash plates as well to act as an isolator
  5. my edelbrock 1406 starts perfectly, hot or cold, 1st time every time and it's been on there with the current set up for 3+ years... and carbs are so cheap and easy to clean and rebuild.. I know FI has a lot of pros... but man I'd like to be able to do it for less. $2300 will buy A. Lot. of. Parts. or labor..
  6. how's the passenger fender? any chance you've got the oem air cleaner snorkle?
  7. my 69 coupe runs/stops great with disc/drum. I redid the drums last year, I plan on going through the front this year - I have no intentions of upgrading but if I do switch to the black 17" bullit rims that I like... the drums might look kinda funny behind them. not funny enough to spend the $$ there when the rest of the car needs so much
  8. ugh.. that pic stinks too... stupid camera...er..phone... engine bay is lookin sharp. now I can cruise for another month then park it and start on the front brakes (rears are done), fuel lines, brake lines, painting the under body, transmission rear seal, Ujoints... suspension... good grief..
  9. here's a slightly better shot... also without my clean up rag...
  10. Not a great pic, but detailed the block and the engine compartment.. little steps.. Spent most of the summer working on the garage so I'll have a place to work. Gathered up a lot of parts..
  11. zip loc baggies, sharpie markers, masking tape for labeling, digital camera lots of pictures and organized storage on your computer, and some see through plastic tubs have really helped me keep things organized. Even if i'm not going to reuse the hardware - I keep it with the part for orientation and replacement purposes when it goes back together.
  12. Hey gang - somewhere sometime in the past forty-some years my mustang got a little cozy with something along the passenger side - anyone have an OEM fender and Door they might like to unload? I live in Greensburg PA frequent Marietta Ohio, Warren Ohio and points between cheers Z
  13. nice! they sell chrome letters at the auto parts stores - how close are they in font to those I wonder... you could put Pakrat on all your vehicles... or other creative words that you need additional letters for. there's a guy locally with a suped up Mistubishi with "Devil" spelled in those letters across the back.
  14. is that the spectre kit? did you make the radiator cover?

  16. Yep. I do. the paint is peeling a bit but you get the idea. I don't think the pic of the chrome one from the car show made my final cut, but it's easy enough to photo shop or imagine I suppose
  17. I've seen four things done - the gray, a semi black, body color, and one dude at a car show had them chromed. i'm not sure if I got a picture or not.. if I find it I'll post it. I didn't dig them chromed, I think I'm going to just go with a semi black myself. right now they are body color.
  18. Wow. first thing I would want to do is talk to the garage myself. My wife is pretty car savvy but sometimes things get lost in translation. A lot of mechanics that i've worked with still have a generally dismissive attitude toward telling ladies what's up with a car or the process, and after a day or so they might have a better feel for what they can get done and in what time frame. the next thing I would do is call the guy that sold it to me, or possibly go straight to the head of sales or the dealership manager - stay cool - explain the situation and your concerns and see what they offer. then work from there. let them know it will only get ugly if they make it ugly, write out all your concerns first and keep working the list - don't let them sly talk you off topic.. I think I would also start looking at my state's lemon laws and talk to a lawyer, unless you're comfortable with all the legalese in your warranty contract. Good luck!
  19. I'm working on scoring up all the parts I need for my coupe - a local guy has a factory oem mach style scoop he'll sell me for $100. I've really had my eye on the fordramair shaker kits -$700 I can make the pie cuts and make the scoop functional and get the finned air cleaner so it matches my valve covers like my shaker would have does anyone have any thoughts on the fordramair kits or aftermarket shaker kits? or any advice over one or the other at all? cheers Z
  20. Nice! When i got my mustang we still had a tiny little single car garage.. i recommend putting some rubber padding on the walls where your doors open if it's as narrow as mine was.. when you show it to friends and they eagerly open the door into the wall... those doors are longer than they look. one of the most satisfying things i've done as a home owner was create "My" space in the garage.
  21. start buying those dolls, looks like now you've got until October.

  23. our local farm co op has an item that you hang up - repels flying insects. No clue what its called, but dad uses them in his garage and no wasps, bees, yellow jackets or flys make a home there. they fly in but leave quickly. looks like yellow jelly in a white hook frame.
