Running a battery cable from the rear
EastYorkStang replied to EastYorkStang's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
Ran the cable up through the A-pillar. Out under the dash into the firewall. Through the wheel well into the hole left from my old vacuum canister. Bolting the dash back together now. Thanks for for all the help !!! -
Running a battery cable from the rear
EastYorkStang replied to EastYorkStang's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
It runs vertical between the round vent and where the cable comes out of. -
Nice project. Where you run your battery cables through the pass. side A-pillar will this interfere with the dash installation? I ran my power cable throught the channel in the rocker up to the A-pillar but I'm encountering a wall just inside it that's preventing me from going further.

Running a battery cable from the rear
EastYorkStang replied to EastYorkStang's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
So i have the cable running up to the A pillar. Just inside the pillar about 4-5 inches in is a metal wall blocking further progress. After talking with others I found I maybe the only one with this piece. My car has A/C if that helps. This "wall" has no holes and its in a spot where I cant drill it. -
Running a battery cable from the rear

Got it. Except where it heads outside under the fender. Is that heater area accessible with the door and fender on ? My car is completely together. Thanks ! -
I'm putting the battery in the trunk of my '70. Mounted the battery and box in the trunk. Now I'm curious where is the best place to route the positive cable to the solenoid in the stock location ?

Glass tube fuses getting harder to find

I get them whenever the next swap meet happens. There's bound to be one in your area. -

Versailles Master Cylinder
EastYorkStang replied to EastYorkStang's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
No, the master worked after the change. The question is, is there an upgraded or better master cylinder to use in my situation ? -
While ago I put in a Lincoln Versailles rear end with disc brakes in my 70. Didn't change the master from the power disc unit I originally had on it. Brake pedal is going to the floor leading me to think the master cylinder is shot. Looking into getting a new one but I'm curious if there are any upgraded ones I can use ? Bigger or smaller bore, etc ?

Removed all the bolts holding it to the dash. Loosened the clamp at the firewall. Moving the connector allowed me to pull it out to remove the rag joint and coupler. Thanks !

Started replacing the rag joint on my 70. Don't want to remove the steering box so I'm curious if I could move the steering column ?

Thinking about putting some '14 Mustang wheels (235/50/18) on my '70 I've got 235 and 255/45/17 on it now but they are cracked from age. I know I need wheel spacers around 1-1/2 on the front to 2" on the back. Ive never used spacers so I'm curious about them.

Ad is gone. Snakes must have gotten them...

Hopefully it stays up longer this month ?

Got a 3G alternator from a friend. Trying to locate the connector(s) that I need. Got a 150 amp fuse and 4g wiring. Just need the voltage regulator connector. Don't know what car the alternator same off so I'm stuck as to which one I need. My local jobber caries Pico connectors.

Have 17x8 Magnum 500 steel wheels on my 70. Curious if anyone knows the weight of them? Found the weight of 15 x 7s at 26 pounds.

3G or 6G alternator conversion
EastYorkStang replied to Footcutter11's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
With going to a bigger amp alternator would this damage the wiring? -
Has it been reached ?
-
What shifter do you use with your conversion? I have one that when it's in 1-3-5 it almost beyond my reach. Thinking of cutting and rewelding it.

Very, very nice !

I'm building up a 351windsor and I've got a performer rpm camshaft for a 302 already. Except for the firing order it's the same? Just use the right firing order and I'm okay?
