I got the old fire wall out ,that thing was really in there ,it looks like i need to pick up a sheet of 19 gauge sheet metal to build the new one . I am going to sand blast before i put in the new fire wall so i can get at everything .

    Need rear gear recommendations

Installed the new 3rd member and I really don’t feel much difference on take off from the 4:11s. It isn’t as sluggish as I thought but I still haven’t put it to its true test by doing a hard pull out because I have to drive 500 miles to break it in. on the highway I am down about 500 rpms. Sorry forgot to write down (mph at what rpm). The car surly drives smoother but that also must account for the QA1 rear single adjustable shocks. Not as much hovering in the rear. I still have a slight drone noise. I’m gonna replace the flowmasters & 2 1/4” exhaust with 2 1/2” with Borla mufflers and cut outs.

I decided to give my harbor freight sander a try on the front of the cab ,it took it down to clean metal fairly quick with out a lot of effort. Hit a spot on the door and found it still has the old army green under the brown primer . These cabs are 19 gauge ,well thicker than a mustangs 20 -21 gauge ,its kind of like working on a 55 gallon drum . Smooth dents can be bumped out and usually need no bondo . I will sand the flat panels but i will have to sand blast everything else . The cowl vent will be filled in and the original firewall will come out so i can make a new one deeper set for a small block Ford to fit .

Finally got almost 53 years of greasy grimy gopher guts scraped off, new aprons on, prepped, primed and painted the engine bay. Now to get the Opentracker suspension and Chocko rebuilt steering back in.

Missing my 1935 Ford pick up .

Digging through parts to see what all i had i found many dashes for 35 6 and 37 , a big pile of interior trim and a lot of window regulators ,a bunch of door latch mechanisms a big pile of back window frames and lots of other pieces . There is still another pile of 35 37 parts around here some where like head lights and stands and a pile of cab doors ,so i have a lot of digging for parts left . At one time i had about 15 of these trucks ,even an ugly old 38 .
