What is the"Vision" for your car?

Hey TexasEd, I like your overall vision statement as mine is very similar with a bit of a lean towards the Pro-touring/Restomod vehicle. I wanted more modern drive and conveniences of a modern car, but had to keep the original body with some slight changes that don't stand out drastically, but to make it slightly different. A quick list of modern conveniences: Vintage Air AC Unisteer Power Steering Cobra Disc Brake upgrade FiTech FI TKO600 Transmission with Hydraulic Clutch Setup Upgraded Radio with Kicker Components Street or Track Upgrades Suspension TMI Covered Foxbodies in Mach 1 Upholstery 3 Point Front Seat belts LED tail lights and Halogen Headlights Body Changes: Removed 1/4 Panel Emblems Removed Trunk Letters Removed Rear Wing/Still need to add Front Spoiler Paint Whole Hood and Cowl Flat Black Paint Tail Panel Flat Black Painted on Side Stripe with Body Color Showing through for striping and MACH 1 lettering 17/18in Bullitt Wheel Combo

So trying to figure out what is the best way to go in my situation. Getting back to working on my 70 Mach 1, lots has been planned and many parts already purchased. I'm looking at doing a minitub on it and am swaying towards the MTF tubs. Looked at the DS tubs and Dynacorn tubs but don't really want to deal with interior mods. I already have the SorT coilover kit for the front and rear. Years ago I purchased the Vintage Venom Cobra brake kit and installed it. That's where I'm hoping to get some advice from someone that may know or can give me better advice then my thinking. In the rear the Vintage Venom kit uses a bracket for the caliper and a hubcentric spacer that moves the wheel out approximately 7/16". The MTF mimitubs give around 2" more of width in the wheelwell, if I understand correctly. (Has anyone done these on a 69-70 that would share some pictures? If so there appears to be a section towards the front that the tub doesn't sit flush with the rail. What is the measurement from the rail to the inner edge of the tub in that area?). So the SorT rear kit I purchased you weld the brackets on your rear housing. Figured since I have the rear out I'm thinking about narrowing it to get my 7/16" back on each side. Well you know what happens when car guys start thinking. Now I'm debating if I should just go down to the width of a 65-66 rear. 65-66 57.25" 58.375" If I remove 7/16" per side for a total of ⅞". 69-70 59.25" I assume this rear measurement is housing flange to housing flange. Is that correct? In the attached pictures it shows currently how the car sits. The rear tires are: Rims: 17x10.5 Back Spacing: 6.8" (174mm) Offset: +28mm (1.10") Tires 315/35/17's I'm staying with this size tire at minimum, but will explore going wider if I can. I've also thought about calling Quick Performance and just getting them to do a new housing for me. If I go with the 65-66 width, will my axles work as they are? Can I just have them shortened and resplined if needed? They are 31 spline axles.

Thanks, wanted to try something different this time. Now I get to teach my daughter how to drive a stick tomorrow. Hope this doesn't fall into the White privilege category LOL.

Pro touring is the look I'm going for. 69-70 coupes always go to the poormans 302/429 boss look. I wanted to be different, wanted to add a bit of mordern ford OE Parts and color. Inspiration came from the cali special, new edge fr500 concept and the termy 03-04 cobra. Silver and Black wheels look so good! just a summary of what I went with: 393w stroker (dyno 360 RWHP, 400RWTQ) TKO600 kit from MDL Street or Track Front Coil over suspension w/ Bilstein Sport Shocks 4.5 Mid eye Grab-a-Track Leaf springs w/Bilstein Sport shocks Vintage Venom (RIP) 03-04 Cobra front and rear brake kit Ford 9 TruTrac w/3:50's Dakota RTX Gauges (still getting used to this, but so far its great!) What is the"Vision" for your car?

My vision: A nice B9, in near concours condition, candy apple red, costing $20k. Hey! I can dream, can't I???

Jerry, the tandem is just an inline dual resorvair MC, and uses an proportion valve instead of a bias bar to balance out the rear brakes (so that you don't get overamplification). I do not think the tandem MC provides more force output over the dual MC. I would either go for a manual setup or a Hydraboost setup, but you'll need a new MC either way. A small bore MC for manual brakes, and a the biggest bore MC you can find for a Hydraboost. I've ran Hydraboost, and it's great, but it adds a lot of stuff to the engine bay in form of hydraulic lines, and preferebly a cooler.
