    It's Back! So WTF Happened?

I would have to assume most members don't know that is even possible... I am pretty much computer savvy, in fact I have been writing code for over 20 years. But I have never been Website or Domain owning savvy... In my job, I use the internet several hours a day for research, but I have never had any interest in owning a website and/or domain because my employer took care of that end of our needs... If I didn't know, even in my capacity as an engineer and researcher, I have to believe not too many other people would know this information. But since I am an information "Sponge", I truly do appreciate this info!!! Thanks Midlife!!!

Disappointing but this is too great a site to let this slow us down. Keep posting guys. This is the only thing that gets me through my working day. Instead of working.

    Burning up Coils

I have a Mallory distributor that was upgraded to their electronic ignition. I have an AAW wiring harness so no restive wire. The problem was that the red wire from the distributor went to the fuse block for a constant 12vdc instead of going to the coil. It never dropped down to 10.8 vdc or 9.8 vdc and that is why I kept burning up coils and electronic modules in the distributor. Connected the red wire from the distributor straight to the coil and everything works great. It evens starts faster.

    The Bitch is Back!

So I picked up the AOD, didn't need the 5.0, but for the price it'll get used in a Mustang somewhere. The AOD is pretty clean, fluid looks and smells good, not like a fresh flush. Haven't removed the torque converter, but it looks new. I had to haggle for quite a while, so I mostly believe he has some recent repair money in them. I'll drain the oil, add a fluid temp gauge sender and drain plug to the pan, get a new TC with 2,100 stall to match my cam, and install it if I don't come across any issues. There are several upgrades which toughen up the AOD: 4340 input shaft, AODE reverse drum and 2" band, AN "A" overdrive servo, and couple extra discs in the forward drum. Lots of work there, which I will probably save for a winter project. I'll just have to take it easy till then.

    Tow Hook/Straps

According to Bob Gaines, Ford used J-hooks on the front frame rails to tie down cars leaving the factory. http://www.concoursmustang.com/forum/index.php?topic=13046.msg79761#msg79761
