Easy way is to run water with a hose into cowl, on both sides one at a time and watch the water run or drip inside. Your floor board pictures, especially the drivers side looks like cowl leak to me.

Which brake booster is right for me?

I have a Dewey rebuilt Midland booster, a pretty mild Comp Cams XE268 cam which I can only get 15 bars of vacuum which provides just 950 lbs of pressure at the calipers, which pretty much sucks for braking. I've gathered the parts and one of my next projects is to switch to manual brakes. Ymmv.

If you use copper tube as backing, make sure you make a handle from something that does not transfer heat fast. Copper tube piece heats up real fast.

Well I believed only GTs had GT stripes... And no mention of the Sport Appearance Group on this document? Some info here: http://www.concoursmustang.com/forum/index.php?topic=16175.0 Apparently the tape stripe found on the 600 was not exclusive to it. Just like the Grande Stripe. At least that’s what Marti tells us.

I believe the 600 was a stand alone stripe not found on other mustangs as is the Mach one stripe kit, all other cars came with the GT stripe, a little bit of info here. https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North America/US/2013/11/18/1969_Mustang_Data.pdf

The rust holes on the top of the inner fender panels is common on 69/70 Mustangs my 69 Coupe had it in 4 spots I had to patch, & the bottom of the battery tray is from battery acid, also very common which mine had also.

You are absolutely right, Aslanefe. From what I gathered in my readings, this tape stripe was not exclusive to Grandes. Apparently, it could be ordered on other coupes as well as part of the sports appearance group. I just couldn’t find a pic of a non Grande coupe with said tape stripe. I also saw a bunch of Grandes without the stripe, or even a vinyl top. Seems like you could virtually order any combination of options on any model, back in the day.

Stripe on the coupe (last picture Guillaume69 posted) looks like 1969 Grande specific stripe to me.

That's impressive, I had to use sawzalls and angle grinders to get mine off :)

A butt weld is the only proper way to patch sheet metal in 99.9% of the cases. It's much stronger, and more durable than a lap joint and when properly executed and finished, you will not have to worry about future hidden corrosion rearing its head years down the road. And no matter what you do, a lap joint WILL corrode over time.
