    Cooling Fan Options

Barnett and MaxPower I appreciate discussions from both of you. This is all valuable interesting facts that someone like me needs to consider for my own difficulties. Everyone needs to consider the comments of others with a lot of leeway; they certainly do with me. I have made my share of misunderstood comments here. MaxPower, consider any comments as they are appropriate to you. I realized the overbore by 0.060 is not a part of the issue, and what is done is done. We work with it and move on. The issue is solving your heat issue with what you have. That is the challenge we all want because (like me) your solution can help us. I have several fans from U-pull over the years of collection. If you want to try one, or measure what I have, I can stop by.

This is not body work !!

I got told "there is no rust in this car" too, Mal. About 7 years and double my initial investment later, I'm still rebuilding.

After i sold my springtime yellow 69 mach 1,i never really thought about getting another one ,untill i saw an old 69 at a friends shop .It had been painted several times ,the paint was peeling and it had black ,brown and grey primer all over it ,the front fenders were beat and the hood ,motor ,transmission and all the suspension was gone, but the body was in great shape. I always wanted to build a Shelby replica ,and i mentioned it to my friend .He told me ,if i would sand blast a couple of cars for him it was mine.Didnt even have to think about it . i loaded up the first two cars belonging to my friend an took them to my shop.I went back for the 69 and put a rear end and front dolly under it so it would roll and loaded it on the trailer. When i got it to the shop i started to notice things ,the engine compartment painted red,the black out painted along the rockers...yep,it was my second 69 i sold back around 1980 ,checked the vin and confirmed it.Digging through the car i found one of my registrasion papers ,it will never be sold again without some sort of force. I just wish i would have taken a pic the day i brought it back home.

    302 oil dipstick tubes

If you have your old one, you can use it as a template. buy a piece of 3/8'' copper tubing, sweat a Ferrell at the base as the stopping point, and attach your old bolt tab to the tubing. Works like a champ.

I prefer it looking aluminum, I think it looks better that way, just like aluminum heads. Tells people something cool is going on under the hood. That color is the 1969 factory color Champagne Gold. Its a very pale gold, depending on the light. It almost looks different in every picture I take. I was going to leave the rear spoiler off, but decided at the last minute I needed a dash of black to compliment the GT stripes. Thanks for the kind words.
